Opinions needed on Low-carb/SF snackie treats!!

  • Looking for some opinions on the Low-carb and SF candies, ice cream and snackie treats that are out there. Recently went on a trip and passed a Russell Stover outlet who makes wonderful Low-carb chocolates (any kind-you name them). Of course, I had to stop and did get some for those sweet cravings that come from time to time.
But I thought that I'd put this out there and see what people had to say or if there are other things out there that others have tried.
    Thanks in advance!
  • I stick to Jello and SF fudgcicles (I prefer the peanut butter cup dessert actually). That is about my limit for Sugar Free.
  • I find it is best to stay off the processed foods. I stick with cheeses, nuts and yogurt and vary them as much as I can. It sounds repetitive but it is working. The processed food has a high salt content which then seems to make you retain water and hang on to all that weight. It is like drinking coffee, sometimes you need to let it go in order to lose the weight. I figure the reason why I got to this size is because I got used to all those sweet fixes. If I get sweet cravings I try to curb them with a herbal tea or diet drink.

    Just a thought!
  • I too occasionally indulge in the Russel Stovers SF candies or SF/FF jello instant pudding. Sometimes the hormones take over and they taste just like the real thing.
  • They only problem with those sf candies is that they contain sugar alcohols which have been known to cause stalls in weight loss, and horrible diarrhea, they say that you can deduct sugar alcohols, but I say besides fiber a carb is a carb is a carb I take them at face value and therefor do not indulge. I like the fudgecicles too and sf jello I havent craved any sweets though. I do however like Squash with splenda, i can't believe its not butter spray, and some cinnamon. Or a coffee flavored with sugar free davinci syrup they have almost every flavor imaginable you can find them for about 5.95 a bottle on ebay
