Yep, we sure are missing a bunch of regulars! wonder what they're up to

It is absolutely beautiful in Louisiana this morning - 50 degrees, blue blue blue skies, sun shine and every azalea bush is blooming! It is absolutely beautiful!

Gonna grab my second cup of

    back later,
    cathy
  • Don't forget, 3FC's now has a free arcade, its really fun. The link is a sticky at the top of the depression board
  • Arrgggh! It's snowing hard here!
  • Quote: Noodles, tell hubby he can come here and cook for me too. I hate cooking when I don't have the time otherwise I really do love it. Plus being on atkins there's really not much of a challenge when it comes to cooking anymore How's the little one feeling ?
Ok, I will tell him for you. We'll put you on the waiting list!

She's feeling better. She went to jump rope practice this AM. Poor thing. She and hubby are having a hard time right now with every cacti and anything else that can bloom in the state of Arizona blooming. They have severe allergies and they get sickie. Breaks my heart. Today is shots day for the both of them so maybe this weeks dose will help some.

A party?!! At 8 a.m.?! I should still be in bed. I am NOT a morning person...unless you consider the AM my bedtime. hahahaha.

Cathy: I wish we could grow Azaleas here!! They'd fry right up. I had several in Oregon along with Rhodies and they were just beautiful. Now all I have are desert plants with 3 rose bushes left. My survivors!!

Tippy: SNOW??!! the "S" word!!! Here's some for ya...we're going to break records today...suppose to get up to 94°. Our spring lasted 2 weeks. Ahh well...Tis great for the arthritis though!! The heat semi scares it off!!
  • Morning Ladies,

Life just does loops lately it seems. Car saga is all resolved. Daughter is fine and back behind the wheel. Don't know what happened to the elderly gentleman who caused the head on collision, except that he, too, walked away without injury. Got my new car on the 19th... went thru the carwash on 21, and the carwash ripped (and I mean RIPPED) the mirror off the passenger side... oy! Carwash paid for the repair tho ($190!!).

Yesterday, we got very sad news. The head coach of our judo club has terminal cancer... he's been given 6 months. He just turned 65. He has been like a grandfather to our daughter, and like a father to my hub. Daughter was very upset last night and locked herself in her room for several hours (she'll be 16 in May). When she came out, she had a lot of questions. I did my best to answer them. Their relationship has been a godsend... he calls her Grasshopper and she calls him Yoda. He will be sorely missed.

Some days I feel like I'm hanging on to a moss covered rock and the waves are getting bigger and bigger, you know? I would like to talk to my doctor about depression again, but fear the meds... last time I gained another 14 pounds... and my weight is not coming down even tho I've been off them over two years. At least I am remaining the same... but it's very discouraging to work so hard at things and have nothing to show for it. Then, when bad news arrives... who really cares about weight in the bigger picture (no pun intended).

Anyway... Lynnie, I hope things continue to get better. Hang in there.

All you other ladies..... keep well. Am thinking of you all.

You too huh?? I still haven't replaced my mirror from the lovely car wash rip-it-right-off episode. **sigh** We tried to get them to replace it but they go "When you buy a car wash you are releasing liability for any damage." blah blah... See if we go back to THAT Car WASH anymore!!!

**Hugs** Judo & 1 for your DD too. When I hear stuff like this it just re-affirms to me that you must enjoy life to it's fullest every day that you can because it is so precious and shorter than we all want it to be...

(runs off to write emails to all of her friends/family to let them know how much she loves them...)
  • Hello Ladies
Finally got my computer probs resolved...so here I am

My eating has still been good, only a few minor slip ups (think ), but I haven't lost a thing I wonder if it might be the Wellbutrin . I need to exercise-maybe sitting exercises would work, since walking is difficult.

Leenie: Spring-don't cha just love it

Judo Mom: I'm sorry to hear the news about your coach. He'll be in my prayers, along with you and your family. I know what you mean about the meds (see above); I've gotten to the point where I know I can't fight this battle without help. I hope you can find what works for you

Tippy: Snow ! I'm sorry to hear about your resident nut case at church. It reminds me of a line from a song: "it's funny how one insect can damage so much grain" Good for your pastor for keeping a sense of humor. I hope your new pastor works out well.

Cathy: Glad your weather is better. Sounds like a beautiful day out in LA.

Noodles: My heart goes out to your DD. I grew up in New England, and my allergies were terrible in the summer Thank God I haven't had trouble since we moved down here

Lynnie: Please keep us posted on how BIL is doing. Sending prayers your way

The sun just broke through the clouds Have a wonderful day.

  • Cin - I knew it was your gall bladder girlie! I do not know why it takes sooooooo long for people to be diagnosed with gall bladder problems. As I told you before my brother went to the emergency room umpteen times before they figured it out. Also didn't Liz get her gall bladder taken out last year about this time? I am so sorry that you have to take it out, but surely you are gonna feel SOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER when they get that little bugger out of there! Let us know when you schedule it.

Joanne - so glad to hear you are doing well with your eating plan! just keep on truckin and don't give up!

Judomom - glad you got your computer problems fixed. so sorry to hear about the coach! I'm so sorry that life is so overwhelming at times. Hold on tight girlie! you know we're here for you whenever you need to talk. hugs!

Noodles - it sure sounds hot and dry in Arizona. wow.

I did get to go walk during lunch today, so I will run my errands after work. I usually have a list each day of things I need to tend to - calls, things to pick up, things to check on, etc.... do ya'll do that too? or am I just everybody's secretary?

ok gang .... have a good afternoon and take care of yourselves!

    hugs,
    cathy
  • Call me crazy...

I got a burst of energy so...I did 2½ hours of more gardening. I dug 3 big holes and planted an Orange tree, an Oak tree, and some cacti. This constitutes dig a little, wet the dirt, then dig a little more with a 15 lb. digging stick. Then add tree fertilizer and mix in bottom, stick tree in, fill up almost to top with dirt, add a bit more fertilizer, fill rest of way with dirt, then add mulch on top. Then I raked up all the dead tumbleweeds and what not..then filled in holes the dog dug, then moved more river rock. Also did 4 loads of laundry already. I'm tellin ya..I get my burst of energy after 3 PM! Plus we're calling for thunderstorms the rest of the week so I had to get this done!! No skating tonight though...too tired.
