New Gal on the Beach

  • Hello!

I'm new here and to South Beach. I have tried to do the Fat Flush by Anne Louise Gittleman. It was a challenge for me. Not the food but mostly the Life long cocktail first thing in the morning. Plus I'm not willing to give up coffee! Well I did for 12 days but slipped back into my old ways.
I just figure What's the point of doing a plan if your not going to adhear to the rules .
I would like to loose 50-60 lbs. But at this point I'd be happy with 30 .

The first question I have is do you have to follow the menu plan exactly? Meaning eating the exact menu each day. I'd like to be able to mix it up and work with the foods that are easiest and quickest to make.

One thing I did enjoy about the Fat Flush was the Smoothies. Although those smoothies were made with a serving of fruit. I've found a couple of smoothie recipes here that do not include fruit. This is a good thing .

Thanks a bunch, I'm going to enjoy this forum.

  • welcome to the beach canongal....you're gonna love your stay here. there is a ton of info in the FAQ section. the way i understand it you don't have to follow the exact menu but you do have to stay with in the guidelines of the menu plan. and stick with the foods listed in the phase you are on. ruth and ellis are our resident experts here i'm sure one of them will explain further.....good luck
  • Good explanation, Jodi. MAke up your own menues using the food lists. He had to fill the book with something!
  • Thank you both. I was hoping I could do it this way.

  • Welcome, Denise!
  • Hey Denise Welcome!
  • Welcome to the beach Denise
I also did the FF for awhile. I still use Stevia sometimes but can't handle the cocktail (it bloats me). The use of oils such as flax seed and omega oils are the one thing that I still do fegularly. It has helped my complexion greatly.
  • Thank You again for the welcome ladies! I still use stevia as well and don't mind using the flax oil either in a smoothie. I must say I'm struggling already with the no fruit thing! It's only two weeks though!
  • Welcome Denise!!!
