New here - starting tomorrow! :)

  • Hello!

I have been reading this forum for about two weeks now, and as of tomorrow - I am officially starting the SBD. Went grocery shopping last night and got what I needed to get started. I am very excited and there seems to be a lot of support here and friendly people.

I am a former Atkins follower. I just feel that the SBD will be healthier for me. I have been overweight for most of my life and have finally reached the point where I want and need to change my lifestyle. This time I have some very unexpected support. My husband is starting it with me. He has always been supportive of anything I have tried in the past (WW, Atkins, JC, etc.), however he has never had the desire to actually try a program with me. I bought the book and we read most of it together. He feels this is by far, the best choice out there and something that would benefit both of us. He does not have much to lose (maybe 15 pounds or so) but wants to do it for the health benefits. I ultimately could stand to lose around 80 pounds I guess. Long road ahead, but I feel I can do it with the support from my husband and from this forum.

I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and offering my support as well!

  • Well, day one down and I made it. LOL! Even though I've done Atkins in the past, I had not been watching what I eat the past few weeks and well, ate a whole lot of carbs and sweets. I battled a massive headache around 3PM (my normal "hungry" time) - but combated it with a few peanuts. My husband also made it through today and I'm really proud of him as well. He was a little grouchy, but I explained to him that it is most likely withdrawals. LOL
  • Yea! Just tell him what I tell myself. STAY IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tee-hee
