SBD Book or web site?

  • Hi ,
    I was wondering who uses which and also what weight has come off in how long.
    I have been on WW and had slow but steady results.
    I am on the Atkins Induction ..Day 3 but I really cant get my head around all the fatty foods. it goes against all I know to be true Although I have met 7 people in the past month at various functions that had lost enough weight for me to ask and it was Atkins they were on.
    Anyone else tried Atkins.
    I will try to stay on the 2 weeks and then move to the Beach Diet.
    I am 5'2 and 158. I had got down to 151 but then went on a month long vacation....You know the rest.

  • I use the book only. It is more convenient to me, because I can flip through the pages anywhere instead of at the computer. Why are you doing Atkins induction if you plan on SBD? You may be better off just doing SBD Phase 1, because you will have to change all of your fats, etc when you change anyway. In my opinion, it will make it easier for you to learn that while your system is getting de-carbed.

    Forget Atkins... too much fat. blah. Yes, I've tried it in the past, and I got so sick of eating high fat foods. Like you said, it just doesn't feel right.
    I use the book. A number of people have said they're not thrilled with the website, but I'm sure it's a personal thing.

    Good advice from Jen and ellis - just do South Beach Phase I, rather than messing with Atkins. And be sure to post in the Daily in the Fat Chicks On The Beach sub-forum.

    I say, "Amen!"....to all Jennifer, Ellis, and Ruth have said. Way too much fats in Atkins, and you would be learning a whole new "good fats, good carbs" WOE when you changed to SBD. I refer to the book constantly, and love the information we share on this forum. Hoping you can join us in the dailys for support, and wishing you well!
