How do you make yourself feel better about you?

  • I thought I might try something new here. I have been struggling the last couple of weeks and I ended up internalizing it and not feeling good about me. So, I started writing everything down - goals, problems, steps I can do to get my goals etc. And it seems to have worked a little. I feel better after having done that and I can plainly see what were my real "problems" and now I can work at fixing them.

    What things do you guys do when you get off track? How do you stay motivated, not only with your plans, but with yourself? Maybe if we share some of this stuff we can help each other out by giving someone some ideas if they are struggling.

    When I am off track it helps me to come here. But when I finally realize that I have been off track long enough I start thinking about me again. Like you did. The thing that really gets me on track is to sit down and really look at my life and notice what is happening. When we get off track we aren't paying attention to us or what is really going on around us. At least that is what I have learned about me anyway. When I sit down and have a talk with myself and then I make up my mind to get with it and get back on track and remind myself why I am doing this and where I want to go. Then I get back on track. But the biggest thing for me is to refocus my attention on me instead of everything else. Also this last time I had some advice from a friend if you are off track for awhile then pick a day to get back on track and get ready for that day. Then when that day comes just do it. That is what I did and it worked for me.
    I hope this has helped you. Plus we all need to let everyone know here that we are struggling so that we can help. Getting cards and words of motivation from others while we are struggling really helps also. But if we don't let the board know then we can't get their help. Everyone here is here for each other. We all have our times when we struggle. That is when we really need to use each other to help us get back on track.

  • Alannah-Sorry you are struggling.It seems like we all go thru peroid of this.Some times it takes me days to get turned around.The boards help me.And like a lot of others I talk myself back on track.Just hang in there and it will pass.You are going to be a great leader.Go with the flow and don't let it stress you out
