So I have been so excited lately because my 14's are starting to get a bit loose. However, I went into the closet today to peek into my boxes and tubs of clothing to see if anything was close to fitting and I was so disappointed. Not so much because things didn't fit, because there where a few items that did, but more so because I don't think I'll ever wear those styles again. I feel like such a clothes snob. But a lot of my stuff is from high school, short short skirts, bras that are way too small, tapered jeans with the seams split at the ankles, and lots of t-shirts and other random pieces that I probably wouldn't be caught dead in anymore. I feel so cheated, because this is one of the things that I was looking forward to when I met my goal weight was diving back into those things, I guess I didn't really paid much attention to what I was throwing in there 4-5 years ago. Wow, what a long time it has been since I have been healthy and thin. I guess I will take the few items that I could see my self wearing still and go ahead and donate the rest of the stuff, no use taking up valuable closet space with things I can't wear or won't wear anymore. So, my new goal will be to start saving what I can so that when I reach goal I can replace all of the stuff I donated with new stuff that I'll actually wear. Has anyone else run into this dilema, I hate to get rid of perfectly good clothing but I hate to see it sit also?!?!?!?

I hadn't thought of this problem. I have been thinking about getting rid of my clothes that are too big, but I hadn't thought of the problem of the smaller, old clothes that are now out-of-style. I think some shorts will be OK, but some of the jean shorts are a little silly looking now. I think my suits and dress pants will be fine -- they are pretty timeless. I think shirts will be the biggest problem. I guess I'll just keep what's wearable and donate the rest. I'll have to slowly build up on new clothes. I just don't have tons of money to go and spend on a new wardrobe.

I usually take my clothes to a consignment shop. Then when I've made a little money, I'll use that to go shopping for new clothes with. The amount I get is no where near what I paid, but on my budget every little bit helps.

I went through the exact same thing about a month ago...I have been taking in my clothes for so long that it was just getting ridiculous. So I cleaned out my closet and got rid of all the clothes that didn't fit anymore. All my size 18, 16 and 14 clothes GONE!....I had some size 12 and 10s from awhile back that I had saved thinking I would wear them again...but when I put them on first the 12s were a little too baggy (must have skipped that size) and the legs of the pants were tapered and the waists were too high and they were just desperatly out of style and I couldn't bring myself to wear them...so they were also given to the women's shelter. Now I have the problem of having VERY few clothes that fit and each paycheck I buy a couple of mix and match peices. The frustrating part of this is the jeans I bought 6 weeks ago are already too large and fall down. But I am determined to not buy the bulk of my new wardrobe till I hit goal. I will just continue to paperclip my pants up for the time being!
