Changes at the Beach DAILY Saturday

  • If you could change one thing about your new life and way of eating what would it be?

Changes can come in the smallest of packages.

It could be adding something new to a menu.
It could be adding a new POSITIVE word to your thinking.
It could be adding something new to your exercise routine.
It could be trying a new look. Geting a new hair style. Some new make up or some new perfume.

It couild be a new way of doing something.
Adding a smile to your face.
    Flirting with your loved one.
    Playing.
    Singing.
    Writing.

    Change is a good thing.

    It makes us stronger.
It keeps us on our toes.
    It helps us develop character.
    It makes us whole.
    It brings us joys.

Go out and make a change today.....a positive change.
    A change for the bettter.

Wishing you a day filled with sunshine.

    Marcie

    PS.

    Sharon,
    You WILL be missed.
Have fun, drive safe and know you will be in my thoughts.
    Me
  • Lets see change 1 thing.....Have to say exercise. To make it so automatic it isn't a chore. Like brushing your teeth or something.
  • My attitude about exercise needs to change. I need to make this a priority rather than just something that I do when I feel like it or when I remember or when I don't have anything else to do or when I'm not too tired. For some reason I really struggle with this, and I think I need to sit down and make a plan, set aside a specific time each and every day that I will devote to doing something physical. OK, that's what I'm going to do this weekend, make a plan!!
  • exercise.....i absolutely will do anything, including cleaning the dog poop as a reason to NOT got to Curves...and give me a break! 24 minutes....wassup with me!!!!
  • Just had to pop in quickly and say "good morning!" We had no internet connection again at work last night...seems to keep happening over the weekend for some reason. I came home and jumped into bed for a quick nap before DS's soccer game. I will come back in a bit and start the Boot Camp thread for today.

Don't despair about exercise! If I can get to the point where exercise is just another of the day (which I have!) then ANYONE can! I am/was a confirmed couch potato! I don't know if it is just realizing how good I feel when I exercise, or seeing the results, or what, but I know that now when I don't work out I really miss it. Well, not the actual time spent sweating, but how it makes me feel!

NSV time-I did 30 FULL minutes on the stair stepper at work last night, which is about 20 minutes more than I have ever done before! It worked out to 94 flights of stairs! I was so surprised that I could do it, and not keel over from sheer exhaustion! So working out is really working!

Well, we are out the door to a soccer game. My DD popped in unexpectedly from college last night so she is going with! It is great to be at the point where we really enjoy her company!

    I'll check back in later!
  • I have found one change that sort of sneaked up on me. I found that it wasn't a hardship to pass on all the 'goodies' at our breakfast this a.m. at church. Muffins and bagels and danish, and biscuits and grits and sausage gravy. Time was, I would have felt deprived. That was not the case this a.m. Eggs and sausage was just fine.

Rowan: Paying a fee every month keeps me going to Curves. There are times I don't want to go, but I know that i feel better afterward and I'm not going to give my money away. such a 'cheapskate' I am.

TwoDog: Do you have a Curves near you.?

Have a great weekend all. Lizzie
  • Rowan LMAO!......me too!
  • Hello, girls. Pardon me... very cranky...
    love and hugs to all...
  • Ellis ~ sweetie, why not a nap in the chaise...you will feel better
  • Thank you, Sflake. That is just what I'm going to do.
  • Rowan, I forgot about cleaning up dog poop....I need to start counting that as exercise!! All that bending and stooping should count for something.

Lizzie, we do have a Curves in town, and a couple of girls that I work with have been going. I've been talking to them, and I do think that I'm going to give it a try. Maybe that's the push that I need to get myself on track with regular exercise. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ellis, you're entitled to be cranky once in a while....we all are!! Do something nice for yourself, you deserve it.
  • ah....see I never even thought that picking up the dog poop IS exercise!!!!

Let's go to fitday and see, maybe 30 calories at least!!!!
