Question For Those of you who do Weight Watchers...

  • When I first started my weight loss journey, I was going through the Medical Weight Loss Clinic. Of course, it became toooo expensive, plus I moved up north for a while, so I quit.

Now I feel as if I need that "extra" support. Something like weight watchers. It seems as if so many of you do good on it, and I want to get in on it too!

So could anyone tell me about weight watchers?

    How does the program work?
Do you have to purchase foods?
How much does it usually cost to join? (I know some are different)
How often do you have to go?

And if there is anything else you might like to add that would encourage me to go. I'd really appreciate it!

    Thanks so much!

  • A slight correction to your post, Chubby Cowgirl. I just purchased the At Home Plan. It has no monthly fee. There are two different kits. One costs about $110, with shipping. The other costs about $130, with shipping. The main difference is that the more expensive one includes a pedometer and some exercise materials. Worth it to me, since being more consistent with exercise is one of my main goals.

Back to the point: You can spread out the payments over 3 months. But once you've paid for the kit, there are no monthly or other fees.

The WW online deal, where you keep track of your points, etc. online and have access to the complete web site is also a way to do the program at home. That plan does have a monthly fee. I do not know if you get the program info and stuff they hand out at meetings with that program because I've never looked at the details of it.

Anyway, good luck to you. Doing it without meetings works very well, as long as you get support somewhere. I get mine here and on Dotti's web site.
  • No tha Online weightloss is got fees right? or no thats subscribing to tha Etools nevermind sorry kari for confusin ya!!! thnx lin for correction my error!!
  • Well, I started researching WW last week. I got information from this web site and from a couple of others. With all the information I printed out, and with the questions answered on this thread and dotties weight loss journey, I was able to figure out the points thing. I have been doing Atkins for 32 months and wanted to add the pts thing to portionize my food. So far it is working out.

People here will answer questions. I don't attend meetings. Visiting this website and the other links are sufficient for me. They cost nothing.
