Palm software for Atkins/Low Carb?

  • Hello!
Does anyone know of a good, free software for the Palm OS that would help with Atkins? Something that has a database of carb counts and where I can enter my meals and so on....
    Thanks!
  • It's not free but I use calorie king (www.calorieking.com). They have a web app and a Palm app both. It will track a bunch of value, including carbs and exercise too. I find it a lot easier to use than fitday (which doesn't have a palm app) and it has been easy to find most of the foods I want and simple to add the ones I don't find.

If you find a good, free app let us know!
  • Thanks so much! Had a question, though: how easy it is to track carbs on calorieking? I was looking through it and it seems to cater mainly to calorie-counting... am I looking in the wrong place?

Haven't found a GOOD free app yet.... *sniff sniff*
  • It will track whatever you ask it to. On the palm version, there's a drop-down which is set by default to calories, but can be switched to carbs. You can even pick a target number of carbs per day and it will show a bar graph across the bottom to show how you are doing on your carb usage.

It doesn't handle the "net carb" thing so you either need to do a special entry for foods or keep track mentally. I usually go with the total carb entry unless the food has a ton of fiber and then I make a custom entry for it.
