Diet sodas

  • Can anyone explain why the sweetner in diet coke
and pepsi is bad and what does it do to harm the diet? Also how many carbs a day and how many calories are typical in phase one? I have the book, but it does not do very good at explaining things.
  • Can you rephrase your question? I want to make sure I am answering the right thing. Are you wanting to know what is bad about the sweetener in Diet Coke? As for pepsi..regular or diet? Sorry, just want to make sure I'm not answering something you didn't ask!
  • In the book references are made to cola's.
    Pages 49, 56 & 89.

    ......replace coke with diet soda......

.......colas require little digestion and goes directly into the bloodstream....which leads to cravings.....

    .....Colas are pure sugar rush.....

We don't count carbs or calories.
Keep to the lower end of the GI and keep sugar contents under 4 gr.

Water is best and you can get flovored water at Super Wal Mart that are SF and caffeine free. Tea thta is decaf as well.

    Hope this helped.

  • I think it has to do with the caffeine. Although I still have a couple of diet pepsi's a day.
  • if you are looking for a very tasty diet soda, give diet cherry 7up a try. it is dee-lish!
  • Ya know I had a diet pepsi yesterday and just couldn't drink it. That was the first diet pepsi I've had in a couple of months and it just didn't taste good to me. I've also had the diet rite with splenda in it. But for some reason since I've been drinking water and ice tea, I'd much rather drink the water or tea than the colas.
  • I like Crystal Light, but I stopped making that when I stalled. I thought it was the cause, but it turned out it was these protein bars my dad made me, with a jar of peanut butter and a stick of butter, I was eating 1 or 2 every day. That was when I was on Atkins... but anyway, now that I'm drinking so much water, I don't really have room for anything else. Except on weekends, I don't drink much of anything then. :-(
