Mantras

  • Okay, I know I know, the California girl brings up such a flaky subject. However, I think Mantras are really powerful.

    If you don't know what a Mantra is, it's a phrase or words that you say over and over again. Usually it's done during yoga or meditation but I've done them on the treadmill to get me through the last 10 minutes without quitting.

    Today, I really wanted a new mantra to repeat during a short meditation we do at the beginning of our yoga class but I couldn't think of a good one. I figured you girls might be some inspiration.

    Here are my current Mantras:
    om-mani-padme-om (which means "I bow to the Jewel within" or "I recognize the Goddess within.")

    I am Xena Warrior Princess! (I know this is silly but it works!)

    When I'm really desperate, I repeat: I am Thin Within!

    Okay, gimme some inspiration!
  • My bracelet says..."It's up to me"

    I was also thinking "I am worth it"

    healthy, healthy, healthy

    in counseling we talked about mantras. and for a while i was using some pretty cool ones but they weren't weight related. LOL

  • "I am the captain of this ship!"
  • when I am on the treadmill I tell my self to "grind it out, and to get tough." I also like "I feel strong, I feel confident, I feel in control" when I walk or rollerblade.
