Hello... everyone.. This past summer i was diagnosed with PCOS the funny thing is I have know I have had it for about 3 years now I am 22 and went to numerous doctors before they finally told me what was wrong with me.. I also have Insulin Resistance and I have been reading all the new chit chat about Curves.. Is it really as great as all of you say it is? also, have any of you had to go back and get blood work done after so many months or so to keep on top of the insulin? my doctor didnt really tell me anything.. I am seeing a specialist for my infertility issues monthly for exams.. I am just wondering what diets are most commonly followed with PCOS my doctor told me not to follow atkins because they still wanted me to have some greens in my diet.. and has anyone read the new dr. phil book as well.. I know this is kinda a bunch to ask but thanks in advance....
Darn, I just posted a long post and lost it! Anyway - if you are insulin resistant, your doctor might be happy if you eat low glycemic foods. This means no white bread, rice, sugar, or highly processed foods. Replace them with things like brown rice, whole grain bread, low sugar fruits, etc. This will be easier on the insulin resistance...Sugar Busters and South Beach are two good ones. YOu might also be able to incorporate those foods on another plan, like Weight Watchers.

thanks so very much!! Until i actually found this website and message board on it, I thought that not very many people would know what I have and understand it and I am just glad that there are people who have it and that there is this great message board!! I have never tried sugar busters before I have the south beach diet book here.. I think i should pick it up and go over it again it seemed simple enough! Thanks a bunch!!
