CALGON take me away

  • Ever had a day where that saying just fits to a tee.?.
  • You mean like this morning? I got up a little late and decided to treat myself to a veggie omlette for breakfast, and I set off my smoke alarm that is connected to the security system I never activated. Sooooo, dog barking furiously, cats hiding and near heart attacks, I call the security company. I explain to the woman 5 times that I never activated my service, and she KEEPS asking for my password. She patches me through to a man who AGAIN asks for my password. I tell him, "Look. I don't pay you monthly for service. I am not connected to you in any way, nor am I connected to the fire department. I simply have smoke alarms that are connected to MY inactive security system and I need a very generic passcode to make it stop yelling at me!" He proceeded to give me a string of 6 digits that made the screaming stop. So, 15 minutes later, I have a 1/2 done omlette and 3 animals that are still freaked out. I got to work 10 minutes late, and all I really want is a doughnut (or for calgon to take me away).
  • mmmmmm the doughnut sounds good..... * Bad Lynn*
Sorry to hear ur morning wasn't all that great. But maybe its getting better?
  • hehehe... thanks. It is getting better, actually. It just stinks to have to start your day like that, you know? Maybe I will treat myself to a quick dip in the whirlpool after the workout tonight. Oh, and I didn't crack and have a doughnut. I just really really wanted one. I'm a stress eater.

  • There are LOTS of days where I need good 'ol Calgon to take me away from the preschooler I teach! 3 & 4 yr. olds are just plain HECTIC. It's especially hard when you are not feeling well, and still have to deal w/ them. This morning I was feeling so nauseous and it was NOT FUN.

But, now things are looking up!

    Hope everyone's doing well today--

    Jen
  • Wow Leslie what a morning! Hoepfully the day got better for you.
  • I made it better by nixing my normal gym routine and trying something new... mega step mix. It was a great class and it felt nice to be able to do it without being TOO out of breath! Thank God for small blessings!
  • Ugh, tell me about it... I was dealing with a Cub Scouts nightmare tonight.

I'm glad you didn't let your morning ruin your whole day Leslie - nothing like a good workout to make you feel great.
