Exercise Journals!

  • I have been keeping a walking journal now since January 2002 so I thought I would start up a threat called Exercise Journals.

    For myself I will record here the following
    When I go walking with my hubby -- the date and miles
    When hubby is working I will be walking to a Richard Simmons Sweating to the Oldies tape.

    Anyone else up to keeping a record = making a commitment to exercise min. of 3 times per week? Try recording it -- it will surprise you just how much you do accomplish when you see it in writing.
  • Walking update as of September 16/03
    I never was much of a walker before -- always found ways to get out of it -- but I sure do enjoy it now.

    Anyway here is what my chart looks like as of Tuesday September 16/03 by 9am

    January 2 2002 to May 25 2003 = 575 miles

    May 25 2003 to July 10 2003 = no walking as I was having radiation treatment due to the return of cancer

    July 11 2003 till July 31 2003 = 12.25 miles for the month making my grand total 587.25 miles

    August 2003 = 27.25 miles for the month making my grand total 614.50 miles

    September 2003 (till the 16th) = 9.50 miles for the month so far making for a total of 624 miles.

    Goal is to make 700 miles by the middle of December 2003!

  • Completed another walk today
    My goal is to walk each day when hubby is home and when he is out to work in the morning to walk to a Richard Simmons tape. Today we were able to go for our walk.

    So this is how my chart looks now

    January 2 2002 to May 25 2003 = 575 miles

    May 25 2003 to July 10 2003 = no walking as I was having radiation treatment due to the return of cancer

  • Here is my exercise updated!!
    This is what my chart now looks like as of Thursday September 18 2003

    Jan 2/02 to May 25/03 = total miles walked 575

    July 10/03 to September 12/03 = 621.25 miles

    Sept 15/03 1.50 miles for the day = 622.75 miles

    Sept 16/03 1.50 miles for the day 9.50 miles for the month = 624.25 miles

    Sept 17/03 1.50 miles = 11 miles for the month = 625.75 miles

    Sept 18/03 1 mile for the day = 12 miles for the month = 626.75 miles
  • Another 1.25 miles walked!!
    Did my walk again -- did 1.25 miles today so my total is now 628 -- am getting close to my next goal of 650!!

  • did the tape today
    Walking to the tape is difficult for me to get into -- don't know why but it is .

    But my goal is to walk every day and as the Rec Plex was closed today I had to use the tape.

    It was the Sweating to the Oldies #1 which is 45 minutes long but I walked to it for 30 minutes. So far I have done some exercise each day this week -- 30 minutes each day since Monday.

    Still walking.
    I made a commitment to myself on September 14 that every day I would do some sort of exercise for 30 minutes.

    As of today, September 24, I can say that I have been true to that committment. I have walked 30 minutes each day but one and on that one I walked for 30 minutes to Sweating to the Oldies #1.

    My total miles walked as of today is 632.50 miles!! My next goal is 650 miles so I am very close.

  • September 26 2003 update on walking
    Well I have added more miles to my chart.

    As of today, September 26, 2003, I have now walked 634 miles.
    Next goal is to have reached 650 so I am just about there.

    The goal for the year is to have walked 700 miles -- and I am going to make it!

  • That is a good idea maybe on new years i will start logging my miles walked for exercise to see how far i have walked in a year.

    Went for a walk today but just a small one -- only 1/2 a mile.

    So my total is now 634.5 miles!!
