Petite but Fat! Help with Calories

  • so I'm here with the same goal as everyone else. The problem is, I'm so short with small bones that my daily calorie allowances are so small!

I'm 4'11" (150cm) and currently about 62-64kg (depending on water weight). I'm 34, and according to the harris-benedict equation I should burn about 1,600kcal if sedentary. That's way below the 'average' 2,000 kcal a day! And if I wanna lose weight I have to eat about 1,100kcal which is even more undoable. I do exercise when in health but I currently have the nastiest cold ever, and it's particularly hard when I'm ill because I move a lot less and am depressed. When in health I go to the gym about 2 times a week, which ups the average to about 1,800 a day, which is more manageable. But when I'm ill and can't exercise, my calorie burn is ridiculous, and it's just going to drop as/ if (!) I get any thinner. My BMI says that I should be 41-55kg (I know that BMI doesn't account for muscle mass percentages, but since I'm not building muscle I'm using it).

Is anyone similarly tiny and facing the same problem(s)? What are your suggestions?
  • Losing weight is 75% diet, 25% exercise, so keep eating healthy and you should be able to lose weight even if you're not exercising.

What you eat is more important than how much you eat. Focus on eating a balanced diet. Eat a lot of vegetables. Make sure you get enough protein and healthy fats. Avoid sweets, refined carbs, and deep fried foods.

If you're not sure if your diet is healthy, you can post a list of foods that you eat, and I'll let you know if I have any suggestions.

When you recover from your cold, I suggest that you start weightlifting, if you're not already doing it. The more muscle you have, the faster you can burn calories.
  • im a firm believer in substituting the bad for the good. I think you should continue to workout even if you have a cold but maybe go lighter that day dont let anything hold you back from bettering yourself and also try to go 3 days a week instead of two your body begins to rest and then the calories start to build when your body is on chill mode.you can do it !
