...what it costs to have a tummy tuck done? I know that the cost varies with the doctor and the area where you have it done, but I was just curious about a general price range. I know that I'm going to have to have it done down the road, and I'm just trying to mentally plan ahead.

My friend just had hers done in May and it was completely covered by her HMO. We live in NJ and she has Aetna US Healtcare. I've read that a lot of insurance companys require proof that the skin is causing problems (rashs, discomfort, back problems etc) but I don't think that my friend needed any of that.

I have also been checking into having a tummy tuck (or abdominoplasty). A surgeon here charges $5500 for the surgery and $1200 for the surgery center fees. This is about what I thought it would cost. Having watched this procedure on tv, this seems like the average price.
