Losing from head to not toes

  • Good Morning! I recently joined 3FC because I found many of the posts very helpful! Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any answers on the internet to my most pressing problem.
On my weight loss journey (this time) I have lost 38 pounds but seem to be losing from my head down. My face, chest, arms and ribcage are all thinner and then I bloom in the abdomen, hips and thighs. My body has never lost weight like this before (previously I have lost all over). Has anyone else experienced this?
  • That sounds like me! All I can tell you is that as you get older, the midsection gets more stubborn. Your body isn't the same as it used to be. That doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong--but you do want to make sure you're getting a good balance of nutrients and doing exercises to help keep your muscles strong, especially those core muscles.
  • Definitely this is because the more fat you lose, the more the stubborn fat areas will show. In my research I've seen that intermittent fasting seems to be the way to get rid of that fat the best way how while also working out more on those sections (even though spot fat reduction supposedly cannot be done I do sometimes see that people like the results they get doing so).
  • Better that than the other way around!

Just keep on your journey and your body will continue to transform in wonderful ways
  • You can do it. It's all about commitment.
