The New girl with dreams of Blighty

  • Hi all,

I just joined this board and thought that I 'd jump right in and introduce myself.

I'm English, but live in New Zealand, but hoped that I'd still be welcome on this board.

After procrastinating like a pro, I've decided to try and shift some of my weight. I'm currently 110kg ( phewee, managed to say it ) which is much bigger than I ever planned being. I kid myself that I'm fit - I did a triathlon in February - it's OK, but I know that I'd benefit from being a little more svelte. I've been really into fat acceptance for sometime but I think that has allowed me to put my health considerations on the back burner - how whacked is that.

    So that's me,
Looking forward to getting to know you all.
  • So that's where my 'fat cat' picture went! I had to re apply and couldn't work out how to get the picture back. Still as long as you look after it!

    Welcome aboard!

Are you on any particular slimming plan or is it just (just!) exercise?

I always thought NZ looked great in pictures. Did you move for work reasons (I am being nosy- we tend to be on this forum!). How long have you been there? I am sure there are some good walking areas there.

  • Hiya, welcome and well done for joining and getting yourself into gear.

I've just had a marathon session of the LOTR the 1st and 2nd so I'm dead jealous that you live in such a beautiful country.

Keep logging on and I'm sure you'll get to whatever you want to be

  • Hi, I would love to fit enough to run the length of myself, let alone do a triatholon.
  • Do you know I am sooooooo brain dead at the moment I thought you'd put 110lbs... I was thinking well maybe she's only 4'10"

    Oh dear

Well that's me finished for tonight I can't even read properly!!!

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME - some of us (me) are a bit crazy but on the whole you'll enjoy it here... by the way where from blighty did you emigrate from?

  • Hi there.
Sorry Suzi about nicking your fat cat. I think that she's fab and will take good care of her 'til you want her back.

A bit more about me. I moved here four years ago. I stalked my hubby. He's a kiwi, that I met back home.

I was brought up in Norfolk, but spent the last few years in the UK in London, having a whale of a time.

NZ is fab, great scenery etc, but I live in the city, and a city is a city really. Although I find that the lifestyle here conducive to exercise - I would NEVER have done a triathlon at home.

As for my diet, just general healthy eating really. I really enjoyed slimming world back home but that doesn't run here and I don't fancy weightwatchers. They do have Jenny Craig here but the food is so expensive that all three of us would have to share it! I don't own scales so will have to measure my progress by other means.

I just find it hard to get from thinking to doing. I'm the anti -nike - just sit down!

Ah well, as they say "if you think you can, or think you can't, you will.

    Catch you all soon

    Pol
  • Love that anti - nike bit, am going to adopt that for this evening -

    JUST SIT DOWN
