Day 1 Questions, please help

  • A few can I's....

    Can I have sugar free gum? How about diet, caffeine free soda? Sunflower seeds?

    Here's my menu for the day..

    B: garden vegetables egg beaters pinch of mozarella chees

    S: Stick string cheese

    L: Chicken breast with spring greens and oil and vinegar dressing

    S: 30 pistachios

    D: pork chop with broccoli

    I have had all of the things on your list and it has not bothered my weight loss. Your menu looks fine to me.

    I have 1/3 cup of S seeds and am losing weight.

    As far as the caffeine, you might need to experiment a little with that. In some people, caffeine intake may slow their weight loss, and others don't notice any problems. I know many people on the SBD who do drink coffee or tea with caffeine. Personally, I'm caffeine free - not so much because of the weight loss issue but rather because of other effects caffeine was having on me (racing heart, jitters, restlessness, chest pains, etc). I used to drink a LOT of caffeine in a day, and it took a good week to go through withdrawal, but now that I did it, I feel so much better. I do have an occasional soda with caffeine now, but I can always tell when I've drunk something with caffeine, and am happy to go to my caffeine-free drinks. I try to limit my diet caffeine free sodas to one or less a day.

    As far as your menu for the day, it looks great!!
