  • Hey all,

Not sure where SmallSteps is, but since the last challenge ended, I thought I'd go ahead and start us on the third of the year challenge.

Here is her explanation of the Challenge: SmallSteps: I’m wondering would anyone like to join me in a yearly challenge? Now, don't panic at the thoughts of going into this from January 1st to December 31st! For me, it would be near impossible to stay focused for a full year so I have decided to split the year into 8 challenges or 8 mini targets to reach. Each challenge represents a 6-8 week time during the year.

Challenge 1: New Years Day to Valentine’s Day (January 1st to February 14th) Challenge 1
Challenge 2: Valentine’s Day until April Fools Day (February 14th to April 1st
    ) Challenge 2
Challenge 3: April Fools Day until Mother's Day (April 1st to May 14th)
Challenge 4: Mother's Day until Independence Day (May 14th to July 4th)
Challenge 5: Independence Day to Labor Day (July 4th to September 4th)
Challenge 6: Labor Day to Columbus Day (September 4th to October 9th)
Challenge 7: Columbus Day until Thanksgiving Day (October 9th to November 23rd)
Challenge 8: Thanksgiving Day to New Years Eve (November 23rd to December 31st)

Weigh in days for challenges will be once a week.

  • What is the challenge? Post a goal weight and try to hit it by a certain date? I think I missed the first two. :S
  • HowdyTX, pretty much. The originator of the challenge, SmallSteps created it as a full year challenge broken into 8 parts. You can jump in anytime. The challenge is a weekly weigh in over the course of about 6-8 weeks.

In this one, the weigh in day is Saturday, with the final weigh in landing on the Sunday of Mother's day.

There are hyperlinks that send you to the other previous challenges if you're interested. I also updated the original post with an extract from SmallSteps OP explaining the purpose of the challenge.
  • Thanks for starting this Laura.
I never used to like these but now I welcome the accountability.

  • I have just realised that I have not yet taken part in this challenge for some reason.

I go to Germany on the last week, so I would be soo happy to get out of the 260's, but as close to it as possible would be good enough for me.

  • Welcome to all who have joined this challenge! It is nice to have it going. I'm kind of relieved it is a weekly weigh in because I'm in a holding pattern that I'm letting frustrate me and I have to get over it, quick!

Congrats to everyone who is losing, you all continue to inspire me!
  • scotsgal Congrats on getting to a new low!! I hope that you can make it to the 250's for your trip!! How long will you be gone for?

Laura I have a couple weeks a month where I don't lose, and it is super frustrating to do everything right and not see the scale move downward. You are doing a great job, and I bet that next week you have a big drop!!

I hope that everyone has a nice Easter! I plan on indulging a bit, so I am trying to come up with a plan to offset the damage!

  • kfunk, I also stay the same a couple weeks and then whoosh.
I too will feast on Easter and get right back on track. The scale will be up but it will go down again.
    Happy Easter everyone!
