newbie w/ new goals

  • Been on and off diets my whole life. This time its about making a lifestyle change instead of going on a crazy short-term diet. i'm tired of losing weight then gaining back more than i lost. its tough on my body. i needed a change. so i started at 174lbs on Dec 30 2014 and down 6 lbs to date (today is 2/7/2017). All i've done is i have cut out carbs for dinner and i'm making healthier choices for lunch and breakfast. My cheat days are limited to once a week (sat or sun) and i love wine so i have a couple of glasses then. I don't drink everyday at all. I've also stepped up my exercise but not by much, just 2x a week cardio/strength training and then 2x a week hot yoga. i think i'll have to definitely step it up as i start hitting plateau's.... but its nice for now. i'm slipping into a comfortable lifestyle of eating healthy and exercising. it used to be exhausting to diet like a mad woman on diets such as ideal protein. it was nuts. but its much easier now. i know it'll take a lot longer to lose the weight but i know it'll be kept off for longer too and it'll be healthier for my body. it won't kill my metabolism in the future. so there. i feel better to let it all out. wish me luck and would love any interesting links to healthy articles or advice tid bits from anyone going through what i am! thanks for reading!
