10 Days In The Life Boat #192

  • Welcome to the latest segment of 10 Days In The Life Boat.

This is not a "challenge" but a place for accountability to ourselves and support from our fellow rowers. So, what is your plan for this 10 day segment?

Grab an oar and join us doing our best to not fall out of the boat and get wet. We need to meet our goals to stay dry.
  • As soon as I can haul myself back in the boat because I fell in AGAIN this morning, my goals will be:
    1. Hydrate
    2. Work on my head. Why do I keep falling in?
    3. Plan my full day's worth of meals. Put them in my tracker every morning and STICK to it. I have more than enough WW points each day to keep
me healthy and full. I just need to work the program and not fall prey to mindless eating/snacking.

  • Hello fellow rowers ... been quietly dipping and pulling my oars through the water

well no fell out of the boat swam to that cruise liner over there and danced at a concert! Saw Guns N Roses in Auckland Saturday (2 days ago from my post here) ... had a great time - dropped back into my raft after a big sleep and am back at rowing

had my weekly weigh in this morning (we work in Kg's here but I use google to convert ... so anyway ...-1.5kg) down another 2 pounds to 221 pounds must be doing something right ....
I am at the weight my Dr would like me to be at when I last went .... that was about 8 months ago... yes I avoid Doctors unless unwell... even though I have PCOS... they dont do much for it over here unless it is really getting in the way of your fertility and then only enough to help you with your first child....
which I had no assistance needed....off track again

Picking up oars - planned breakfast and lunch for today - really should check in more then one day a week here - as sometimes get to post twice and others just once...

j-ann I keep seeing your goals but are you adding in little rewards just something small... Ideas here consist of things like new magazine ... getting the stuff to try a new hobby ...new paints .. get nails done - a mini manicure.. a facial ..a new bubble bath... I know now if I dont throw in a weekly something nice I fall off the rails ever other week - when I started just seeing the numbers was rewards enough now its become less incentive i have to do something else
    - also with mindless snacking I can be bad at it ..I do this if I am not busy with something else ... oh and dont have snacks near the computer /lap top... I cant do that or I eat mindlessly like a machine..

    my goals -
stay hydrated some days this is easier then others - must drink my water
stick to points - was over into negative weeklies ... might have lost more then 2 pounds this week if i had stuck to them (trying to get to 218 pounds for next mini goal!)
  • Wow Karen, sounds like you had a grand time!
Are you going to use 221 s your goal or continue to lose? You should be very proud.

I do use little things for goals. I've had my eye on a journal. I want to note my feelings and successes, as well as food an exercise, so I'm easily able to look back and see what worked. If I stay on program, and lose anything at all at weigh in on Thursday, I'm going to go get it.

I'm dry and working on my arm strength as I row.
  • Can I jump in the boat? Not the water!! I am doing good but slacking on drinking water.
I am down 68lbs and feel great. I set a goal for 75 by the one year mark. I am not going to make it but that's ok. I'm hoping for 70.
    My goals Water water water
Keep my carbs less than 50 total. Keep my carbs veggies.
60 active minutes of exercise a day. 8-10000 steps
  • Welcome aboard Deb! Glad to see you're still doing so well.

i lost 5.2 lbs over the last week I was amazed. It helps prove my theory that "new" fat is pretty easy to lose but "old" fat, that has clung to you for years won't let you go without a fight. I put that 5 lbs on over the last 3 weeks and, IMHO, I was lucky that it didn't have time to settle in and make itself comfortable.
  • Just checking in. Shoveled snow this morning because if I wait until tomorrow the 4" I shoveled that is light and fluffy, will be covered by another few inches of heavy wet snow, as the temps rise and the snow falls.

Still in the boat trying not to get splashed. So far ..... so good.
  • I still struggled getting enough water in yesterday. I didn't exercise at all yesterday. It's just hard with 4 toddlers.
I did catch up on some sewing I was behind on. I made 10 memory pillows for a close friends family who husband passed away. Still have 4 bears to make today for them.
I'm back to my lowest on the scales.
Hoping by next weekend to see a new low!
Judy I agree older fat is slow to go!
  • Good Morning -

I'm just catching the tailend of the 10 this time. But I saw your post on new fat. I gained 2.8 pounds two weeks ago and managed to recover my footing and lose 1.8 back off this week. Hopefully it will be gone by the time the next 10 day starts. But you are so right. New fat comes off so much easier especially if you don't let it settle.

I looked back and last week is where I gain every year. Some years I give up and others I keep going. My goal is to just keep going.

Good job Deb. I can't wait to see a new low - here's to staying in the boat
  • Judy / J-ann - am at 218 now going for 170 pounds.....

slipped out of boat dropped oars swam a couple days but worked hard climbed in and rowed faster!

still working on staying hydrated this week along with following plan on points...
    we will get there
  • Haha... of course I catch the end of the 10 days. I finally broke my stall. I am back on track. I am still only walking 2 miles on Sunday's but I did get a few extra walks in during the week.

Phae- Congrats on the 1.8 loss...
dgramie- That so sweet of you to do the memory pillows. I am sure that they will love them for years to come.
j-ann- Congrats on the 5lb loss...

    We can do this
  • Oars Down!

We need to get supplies then head over to slip #193. Today begins the next leg of our journey aboard the Life Boat.
