2017 Non-weight (but related) goals

  • Hi gang.
    Sorry I keep disappearing and reappearing like this. Occupational hazard of being overweight, in some ways, I guess.
    Anyway, I'm making it a goal this year to uncouple stress from eating. I still find myself eating when I'm not hungry when something is bothering me.


    What about you guys?
  • eating when bothered - yes ... I have moments of emotional eating but it depends on the triggers somethings will cause me to eat and others put me off food completely so it can be a really bad combo - starvation mode on minute binge the next then you just pile the pounds on..
    am trying to overcome this by picking up a water bottle and drinking instead moving away from food - set a timer just 5 minutes after the drink and ask myself whilst away from the food am I really hungry?
    no - go for a walk - try find something else to do
    Maybe - have a piece of fruit - find something else to do
    Yes - put together a healthy snack then enjoy
  • I stuggle with being a boredom eater and also find that grabbing the water bottle or occupying myself with something helps and proves that I wasn't actually hungry and the urge passes. Also if my sweet tooth kicks in and I am struggling I will chew a piece of sugar free gum and it satisfies the urge.

    My non weight related goal is to make the most of my days and not be lazy
