Induction / sluggish loss

  • Hello fellow Atkins/low carb chicks
I started back on my quest Oct 17, 2016....I know not even 3 weeks but it is a big deal for me. I am disappointed in my weight loss so far..only 4.5 lbs and I have a good 45 to go.

So I am a gal over 50, yo-yo'd 15lbs back and forth now for 4 years. Help I have stayed the course and even added exercise this week.

    Suggestions???????
  • Well I finished week 4 of induction and down 7.2lbs all together so not what I hoped but I will take it. I have stayed on track and going on week 3 of exercise 5 days a week
  • Following your post! Find I'm in the same boat. Decent results week 1 - and nothing week 2. Is there still hope?? Too scared to break the diet cos my carb flu (day 3) was horrific
  • Well I an nearing the end of week 6 did not exercise last week and still only down 7.4 lbs. I am truly at a loss. So I have looked at the Atkins app that I use to track my food. my protein is consistently lower than recommended as well as my carbs. Calories and fat are much higher so I am going to try a week with some high protein, low carb/calories shakes to up the protein without upping my calories too much and see if I see a difference. Darn that stuff is expensive and it just ticks me off but I do what I can for the cause. Its not as if I am truly hungry I think I am eating out of boredom

Are you keeping yourself hydrated? My weight loss hasn't been that fast either, but I've been doing a little research and keeping hydrated may be the key. You may also need to up your protein a little and see how you go. I'm still experimenting with what will work for me, but just tweak it up a little (ensuring you don't exceed in carbs) but just make sure you're eating enough calories. If you're not eating enough carb or protein, I dare say you're undereating and possibly going into starvation mode.

yes I agree! ensure your protein is at the level required and drink water! I have read a post where a woman went from size 22-16 and the scale BARELY moved, but she didn't give up and did not let the scale dictate to her on whether she would quit or not don't give up
  • well I have been using protein powder that is low calorie and low carb it has helped! I am still too low on my protein and almost all days for carbs but I am seeing a faster loss than before.

Now this week I have really went downhill.....almost 8 weeks without a bit of a slip and now 2 days in a row one day way over carbs...(5 cookies) and then I know I can have vodka and I did...3 drinks 1 night and 2 another...Monday will be the day of truth. It usually takes me 3 days to see how my body reacts to too low/too much.

I must however let you know that I am very hydrated each day so that is not in the equation. My goal now will be can Christmas be down to 171?????
