Loose Skin..

  • I'm starting to lose weight, and my biggest fear is loose skin. Does anyone have tricks, or anything to help with it? I'm really worried about my legs and arms.
  • I also am worried about that. I have a lot of weight to lose. It's scary and I don't want it to hinder me. I'm worried I will not want to lose the last bits because I'll have saggy loose skin.
But ... I want to be lighter!
  • Same concern. My arms, even at my lowest weight (75kg) were always an issue... I would appreciate any tips
  • Slow and steady weight loss, weight training, vitamin e oil or moisteriser with vitamin e
  • An balanced diet and exercises will help you to lose weight in a healthy way for your skin.
  • Use a good skin moisturizer..
  • If you reduce your weight in a better way the loose skin problem will be disappear

Um...no. Loose skin is something we don't really have a lot of control over. Age, amount of weight loss, etc, are big contributors and those aren't things you can change. At this point, I'm 44 and no matter how much weight I lose, I'm not going to look 19 again anyway, so I'm just going to hope for the best and deal with whatever happens, when it happens.
  • I am concerned about this too. I've been obese all my life and I'm sure that there will be lose skin, I can already see it. But there's not a ton I can do about it so I'm trying to work on my self esteem and body image issues because I have more control over that.
  • Depends on age, younger will snap back but older will have the saggy skin and if severe will need skin removal
  • It's something I worry about too, I am pretty confident that I'll have a fair amount of loose skin. I stay hydrated, moisturize and I'm losing weight in a healthy way, incorporating exercise, ect. Since I'm not comfortable with surgeries that aren't medically necessary (which is definitely subjective, no judging it's just that my phobias related to sedation, ect make it really hard for me to consider surgeries that I can live without.) I'm working with my psychiatrist to work on healthy self esteem and body image so when I'm there I'll be more comfortable with it.

I might consider laser tightening though, it's minimally invasive and will achieve about 20% tightening. Not as dramatic as a full body tuck but it might be enough to make me feel more comfortable with my new body.
  • Seems like everybody worry about it
