Greetings! First Time Visiting

  • Hi! I'm 51 year old woman and weigh 174 lbs at 5'4".

I had always told the nurse at my doctors office not to tell me what I weighed and was generally happy with my appearance until a new one let it slip.

I have to admit, the number gave me pause and now I want to take stronger action (I was already set on reducing slowly, now it's just a more pointed objective).

Years ago I had lost about 150 pounds using home delivery meals; then for the bulk of it, the Weight Watchers program. I have kept it off for about seven years.

I'm reaching out to this community now because I'd like to loose about 20 pounds and I need a boost. I'm thinking about WW again. It's been a while so I'm sure it's changed a bit since I was on it.

Look forward to meeting fellow healthy eaters and learning a lot here.
  • Hi Psyche!! Welcome

I'm also 5'4 and although I weigh a bit more than you do, I was 150 a year ago and completely understand where you're coming from. I'm personally trying to find a sustainable whole foods diet I can follow and will be cutting back on portions that have grown along with my belly.

Good luck and feel free to PM me if you want encouragement!!
  • Thank you! I can't remember when I was last 150. Sometime around 1990 I think. So it's a dream for me.

I'm on a whole foods diet too though I have to admit to eating a whole lot lately. Need to get back on track for the Fall, my favorite season.

Yes, overeating is part of my problem too. I'm learning to recognise what is hunger and what isn't! Happy to be on this journey with you!
