74 Pounds to Lose & Feeling VERY Excited!

  • I thought my goal weight would be 140-150 pounds, but I am seeing now that my goal weight is 120 pounds. I use to weigh 250 pounds and I worked really hard to lose weight. I ended up losing 120 pounds but got pregnant, had a lot of trouble with my pregnancy that put me on bedrest and I ended up not only gaining 85 pounds, but I also ended up with a food addiction that I am just now learning to break. It's been almost 4 years and I have been struggling with my weight. This year I made it my goal to learn to eat in moderation and not base my life on food. I feel like I am on a really good road, and I am going to keep travelling it, but I also know that I want to weigh 120 pounds. I am barely 5' and so 120 pounds is ideal. I don't know if I will ever get there, but I really feel like if I can overcome my 30's, and get past birthing 5 children, then I can hit 120 pounds. I have 74 pounds to lose. It seems scary, but exciting and I am going to need support, but that's why I'm here
  • After trying to figure out how long it will take me to lose 74 pounds I see that if I lose 2 pounds a week, it will take me 8 months. I think I can do that. I have been losing 2 pounds a week now for the last 2 weeks so I am hoping I can keep that going, and I don't see why I can't. I have it down to a science though, and I know EXACTLY what I need to do to make this happen!
  • Welcome! Can I say how jealous I am that you have five kids? That's why I'm trying to lose weight, to start having kids.

Keep in mind you may not consistently lose 2 lbs/week. Plateaus happen, unfortunately. As far as your eating is concerned, have you talked to a nutritionist? What are you doing for exercise?

I think your motivation is great! Keep it up!
  • Chickiemaui - I wish you the best of luck on your journey
  • Weight loss has been such a fun journey, hard, but fun! I can see why you're excited, you've done great so far! We gave about the same amount to lose, so maybe we can motivate eachother!
  • I think it's great that you have a goal that you've been at and liked! You know what it feels like to be at goal and know how to get there. For someone who is 5' 0", 120 is a good goal in the healthy range. In general, someone of your height is considered to have a healthy weight between 95-128 lbs. Obviously 95 is on the low end and 128 on the higher end. So you'd be right in that range!
