Hi chciks
Just wondered if anyone else was cal counting?
I have just started and I am having under 1900 cals on weekdays ( had 1400 ish yesterday) and 2600 cals at weekends.
I don't know if this is to high?

Hi.
I'm counting calories as well. Using an app called myfitnesspal. According to that as I'm not very active I can eat about 1200 cals a day to loose weight.
Done this before and managed to loose weight so doing it again.
im in Scotland and count calories.
On a normal day ill eat about 1400-1450.
Today im doing a little penance for over indulging yesterday and will eat about 800.
More of an Old Boiler than a chick but I'm calorie counting on 1400-1500.
I started on 1200 last June, when I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes and petrified but the diabetes dietician advised upping it, and she'd been right (tho I didn't believe her at the time): I walk a lot, and this number of carbs keeps my weight going down steadily. 76lbs since June. Was 79 but went mad and overate like an idiot for a week last month and regained 7.
If you find a BMR (basal metabolic rate) calculator online and put in your height/weight/activity level, it will give you a total for how much to eat to maintain, how much to lose. They need to be taken with a pinch of salt, though. I've just re-done mine quickly as I type this, and it says that to lose 2lbs a week, I should eat 945 calories. That may well be statistically correct but it would be very unhealthy.
Good luck!!
I am calorie counting. I am on 1400 a day. Women as a rule are only meant to eat about 1,600 to 2,000 calories per day on a "normal" day anyway. 1900 seems very high if you want to lose weight?
Hi, another Brit here. I'm also calorie counting. I'm 5ft 4 and walk at least five miles a day (mostly briskly) on weekdays. (I tell you this to give you some inkling of activity levels.) I eat between 1,000 and 1,250 calories a day when dieting and about 1,600 when maintaining - depending how hungry I feel. I seem to be having a small (I hope) plateau right at the moment, but this level - when dieting - is good for at least a 2 lb a week loss for me. Admittedly, some weeks it is more, sometimes less, but that's metabolism and body functions for ya! Hope this helps!
