A REAL TGIF! March4

  • Finally! This has been a long and hard seven-days but the end is nigh. I even managed to sleep until nearly six before the dog alarm went off. Why Jazz is lonesome when he is sleeping with two other congenial dogs is beyond me! He's not even in a hurry for potty when I come downstairs. I guess it's love.

Despite all the bad stuff this week, I did get things accomplished on my desk and around the house. I had to go through all my old pictures and documents for an Archives project and to dig out family pictures for Shirleyanne's daughter to copy. Sorted out my tax stuff while I was at it. Good to have that done.

Looks like this will be our last really cold day for a while as the temperature is heading up above freezing tomorrow. I see sunshine and even above 50ºF. The melt will bring back Lake Sheridan in the dog yard and Muddy Paw Season 2016 will return. It's a nuisance but sure is a harbinger of Spring.

The sort and pitch project for today is to gather up all my odds and sods of herbs and spices, sort, pitch and repackage. I used to be one of those people who kept herbs and spices in labelled glass jars, alphabetically arranged on special shelves. Then I discovered Bulk Barn and have lots of unlabelled and undated plastic bags. Maybe I'll just throw the hot herbs and spices into a huge pot of "interesting" chili and have a dinner party

    So life goes on.

Raising my mug to you all!
  • Wow, six am! I bolted up at 5:45 thinking I had missed my 4 am meds (I don't set the alarm), and it took me a few minutes to remember I woke up at 3:30 and went back to bed at 5 am, LOL.

It's been a pretty mild winter, even up there, hasn't it Ruth? Our kids only had one snow day. We were supposed to get 1-3" overnight, we got barely anything . I haven't looked to see if more is on its way.

I haven't planned dinner, and the kids will be home for 5 days, so I suppose I should go grocery shopping to make sure we're stocked up. Of course, DS barely eats (!!! is he my kid?!), but I'm sure that will change soon, since he is 12. Problem is, that skinny mini can eat anything! I bought him (gasp!) Swiss cake rolls, just to get him something high calorie that he adores.

Hope everyone has a good day!
  • Good morning,

I woke up at 6:55 a.m. this morning, guess I slept through my alarm or something. So I am started working even though I am still in my pj's. I will fit time in later to take a shower and get dressed for the day. Today should be calm only have 2 conferences to do. The scale is finally moving in the right direction again, I will take it, now to stay the course to continue.

Ruth -I think Jazz must just love you glad you were able to get your taxes done, it's nice feeling when you get done with them. All I have left is to do my parents when I visit in a couple of weeks.

Tywnn- Do your kids have spring break next week? Mine has her's in a couple of weeks they combine with Easter. We have had 1 more snow day than you but it has been a very mild winter here as well.

    Have a wonderful day everyone!
  • Good morning!

We are headed to the pool then dinner with my sister this evening. I don't know what will happen in between. Perhaps just some relaxing.

    Happy Friday!
  • It seems to never stop! Just got a call that my cousin Bill died this morning after a week of palliative care. Doesn't seem fair to lose him just 6 days after losing my oldest friend. Bill and I weren't that close but he's still family and 56 is way to early to depart! I am almost afraid to check out the local news. It's a good thing I have three cheery dogs in the house.

By the way, my tax stuff is sorted, not done. I owe so don't file until the last day - April 30th up here.
  • Ruth so sorry to hear about your cousin as well
  • Ruth, sorry to hear about your cousin.

Another Friday evening and work week done. Yesterday's conference had some good info but the bottom line is NYS hasn't decided yet. Ok, I will just keep on keeping on.

Had a tasty dinner of various seafood (shrimp, scallops, a lobster tail) on some shirataki noodles with broccoli and some lightened Alfredo. I like the fact that Lent forces me to move out the seafood I didn't cook for the holidays!!

Time for some relaxing before I doze off.
