No longer Obese!

  • So..a little intro:

Hw: 320 Had wls in TJ, Mexico. Got down to 225. Almost 9 months after surgery began regaining. Regained up to 268. It will be 4 years this coming September since the surgery. Decided last year to start doing somthing about this regain and decided its time to meet my goal weight.

Today I am 221.0 According to my BMI, I am no longer in the "Obese" category. I am now just "overweight". I havent been in the "overweight" category since i was in Grade 9!! Im not stopping there. Not only did i make it into the "overweight" category. I have lost all of my regained weight and I am now smaller then my smallest weight after surgery.

So..im going to keep on going. I hope this inspires someone!

I am celebrating with you! That is an awesome accomplishment!
  • Thanks!
  • Well done! You show great determination!!
  • Congratulations! You'll be in the normal range before you know it at that rate.
  • So glad to read this! Congratulations! I know it's been a long, hard struggle.
  • Congrats! Good work!
  • Congratulations!
  • That's awesome, lady! I can't wait until I'm no longer in the "obese" category, like you!

  • I'd have to lose 50 more lbs to be considered "overweight" and not "obese."
BMI is so dumb because I'm naturally really muscular.
But it's a great way to set a goal.
    I bet you look great.
    CONGRATS!
  • Congratulations! That's awesome!
  • Congratulations!!!! that is Awesome ... good to read your success story I have just started my battle to try and get down = as one of the previous commenters said -- the bmi thing is crappy - most rugby players fall into the overweight catagory if not obese and you cant tell me those guys running down the footy field are fat .... small steps to work this away - Im looking forwad to the day i get into the 200's out of the 300's then down to the 250's - at the moment i am 311 pounds started this at 331 pounds!
  • wow. that's a true goal! not a mini goal! congrats! when I see such kind of stories I am thinking to myself: if others can, why I can't! thank you a lot for posting this. really encouraging!
  • This definitely inspired me porthardygurl. I wish you more success along your journey. I'm rooting for you.
