New to forum - Dieter of old

  • Hello -
I am so impressed and inspired by all of you, and I am proud now to be part of this amazing community. I've been reading diet reviews on 3FC for years. Recently, I've been sampling diet threads as I made the decision to go on the IP program. It was a difficult decision, because I really avoid processed foods, preservatives, and dyes. I'm here to say, though, that a person can get really fat on real food, too!

I want to lose 55-60 lbs., which is an embarrassingly huge amount on a frame as tiny as mine. I lost 8 pounds in my first month of IP. For me, that's good. I plan to go off the grid eventually, but for now I am committed to the program. My coach is very, very good.

The "mable1" is a nod to another of my major support groups, the mabls: middle-aged blind ladies. I wanted you to know that I am visually impaired, because I find the website a little difficult to navigate. If I make a blunder, please let me know and tell me how to do it right.
  • I totally feel you on the "dieter of old" thing haha but I've found that the accountability that being in a community creates is a great help! (:

Well, it's good to also remember that, whenever you're losing more than the reccomended 1-2lbs per week (1lb if you're not too overweight), it means you're losing muscle mass, too. While we love to see fast results, it's good to check up with a nutritionist to make sure you're not losing too much (which unfortunately DOES exist haha).

I'm glad you're committing yourself to this, though! Best of luck!
