South beach for bathing suit at the beach

  • Hi my name is Shirley, I am 29 yrs old. I weigh 220 and am 5'8". I am so sick and tired of being over weight. I've been called fat for years. But ultimately I am not comfortable in my skin. My youngest child is 4 so that is no longer an excuse. For once I want people see outside beauty, it's always " would be so pretty is you lost weight."

    With this being said I am trying the south beach diet. I am at the end of day 3. No added sugar very little carbs and lots of protein. My head hurts. I feel like crap. Then I stumbled upon this site, in hopes I could get help,maybe even help others.

    I'm so use to not eating till the afternoon/ evening. When I do eat I eat huge potions.

  • Shirl. Check out The South Beach Forum http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/south-beach-diet-110/. There's lots of info and encouragement there that may help you through the Phase I rough spots. Good luck but rely on skill and planning!
  • Hi Shirl86! I have been on phase 1.5/2 since the end of May this year and have done this diet about 4 times now. If you were eating lots of carbs before Phase 1, then you are probably going through carb withdrawal. Beans and legumes are allowed on Phase 1 and can help with the side effects. Make sure to eat 1/2 C serving each meal or as much as you can. I made a big ol' pot of chili for the first week to make through my Phase 1.
