All New "How Motivated Are You Today?" Holidays Edition

  • The old thread was a bit tired and no one was too "motivated " to post, so I thought I'd start a new one keeping the holiday challenges most of face in mind. How are you staying motivated this time of year? Post your daily motivation level and what you're doing to stay on track.
  • Today I worked on what is left of the garden.....dismantling trellises, digging potatoes, and picking sprouts. It's all food-related but I didn't eat any of it....yet.
  • Good Evening

What's keeping me motivated is that I reached my goal weight last month and do not want to gain it back. I've done the yo-yo dieting for years and don't want to go back down that road lol.

So my plan which I stared this past week is to throw in 2 fast days per week. I will do this through the holidays. Fasting really works for me and I refuse to gain back an significant amount of weight.

My goal is to stay under 140. Also, I'm exercising 6 days per week and lifting weights . So that's my plan!
  • I'm motivated in my head but in my actions I'm not being that motivated. I'm at a pretty low deficit and have been for most of November… I mean, I'm at a deficit… but there's this disconnect between "I'm motivated!" and what I'm doing in terms of exercise and eating. I'm way limited in my exercise due to my dog having a very serious injury and requiring complete rest, and I just don't feel good going out after work to exercise with her being alone all day. This is temporary, my fiancé is moving in in 2 weeks and is looking for work so he'll be with her during the day, so I have more freedom. I might try to do something tomorrow in terms of exercise. OR I need to rearrange what I'm eating to focus more on filling foods (whether healthy or unhealthy, at least filling!) instead of just tasty foods, so I can keep my calories lower.

Anyways. I know I want to lose it, I know I'm close to a new low weight, and I want to push through, so I'll keep going on with the idea that I'll stay at at least a semi-deficit and try to improve it as much as I can with better eating and exercise.
  • I'm getting motivated again. After losing a good portion of weight, I maintained it for a good while but ended up gaining a lot of it back. A lot of it is stress eating and fatigue (bought a house-paying for everything on my own now; looking for a new job) so I'm trying to turn back around and get healthy again.

I joined Gold's Gym (only 2 miles from my house) yesterday and cannot wait to start exercising again. And tracking calories, of course.
  • Today I was a 9/10 for eating and 10/10 for activity. I skipped breakfast, because I was having Lunch w/hubs. However, when I got home I cleaned for three hours!

I hadn't been to his office since I've lost weight, and I think I surprised a few people. THAT will keep me motivated until the end of the month!
  • Motivated like ****
  • I just took off almost four months. I didn't really gain weight so that's super motivating to me. I know now that I've started trying again to lose, the pounds will start coming off fast. I'm super motivated right now to lose weight between now and Christmas and then I'm going to relax again until Lent. I have a fabulous outfit that's been hanging in my closet for a few years. I really want to wear it on Christmas Day.
  • Motivated for the short and long term. Short term: There's an event I'm attending in March and want to look as good as I can. Long term: Want to be more healthy and reach my goal sometime in 2016. I'll continue exercising almost daily, eating healthier foods in smaller portions, having a yummy healthy salad almost every day for a meal.
  • I feel motivated to finish off the ice cream in my freezer and just be done with sugar for a while. Fortunately, the rest of the food in the house is non sugar lower carbs.
  • My plan is to eat Low Carb this week, Raw Vegan for two weeks (eating 5 days, juicing 5 days, eating five days) and then Low Carb for the last couple days until Christmas Eve. I do it this way so I don't go into a sudden bodily shock when the "good stuff" is taken away and so I can enjoy Christmas without getting sick!! LOL

After the holidays will eat "normal" but with some juicing and fasting thrown in. Nothing crazy.

My ultimate goal is to be Low Carb by the Spring and then keep it up for 2016!

When I do this I don't lose a lot of weight, but people think I have because my body composition is then lean/muscles instead of "lumpy"! LOL

My ultimate goal is get down to a size 12 again. Clothes shopping is SO much easier when you're a L instead of an XL!!

I also want to go the Dr. and be under a certain weight so I don't get the gentle lecture!!
