Good morning and who needs coffee ?
I have an unusual week this week, what with Wednesday off. It is also going to be very busy as it is the end of our marking period at school and so I have report card conferences. Time sure moves! We also seem to be hurtling toward the holiday season (and with it, winter) although I am happy to delay the snow for now. Trying to get a start on thinking an planning; I went looking for a turkey this weekend but didn't find one big enough. Will try a different store in the next couple days and have them price match.

I just finished my first coffee, Beth, and I'm ready for another, thank you. Parent-teacher conferences are going on here, too. I hope your week goes well, and at least it's only a 4-day one for you!

Jake and I went to the Turkey Raffle at church last night, but we didn't win anything. It was a lot of fun, though. Dustin is going to swing by and pick up my new range on his way home from work this afternoon, and hopefully it will be all installed by the time I get home so I can be the first one to christen it.

It must be cold out. Everything is coated white with frost!

I'm up, but not at 'em!

A bigger turkey!? You must be having quite the crowd over. We're planning on going to my in-laws in NC if his mom makes it that long, we'll see how I'm doing by then if I'll go with or not. Their crowd has dwindled, so only 10-15 people. Have you heard of corned ham? They have it every year, it is NASTY. Of course, now that I eat so much salt, it might not be so nasty to me, LOL!!

Today is PT, and a few errands. I have to go to the middle school and sign some paper work off for my DS to take a test for the last step into the gifted program . Thing is, my DD is testing for it too! I am one proud momma . Even if they don't make it, they're still in the top 2% of their class. Dang!! (and it's funny how different they are otherwise...)

It's chilly out there this AM...but beautiful none-the-less. Even DS commented on the frost over the field with the morning glow. We are blessed to have another day!

Lovely morning out there at 40ºF and we are in for sunshine. Today may be the day when the leaves on the deck finally dry enough to be swept up! Wet leaves do not sweep well! Beth, please do not use that 4-letter word just yet. I don't want snow until Christmas Eve!

Linda, glad you are getting your stove so quickly. That Dustin is a handy guy. What will you cook first on the new range?

I have some things to do inside the house and will get them off the list and then go down to have a coffee with the United Church folk. The Monday morning coffee club has become very successful with both men and women turning up. It's a good way to catch up on the Village news. My friend Barb started this up over a year ago and it's really caught on, partly because there's no place in the Village to get a coffee. She's making a tidy sum for the Sunday School through optional donations - good community spirit!

The rest of today is free ... for now! I suspect Katherine has rounded up a truck so we can go and pick up the door - I'm hoping she's rounded up a driver too since it's been years since I drove a truck - 20? - and there is no way we can mange to get that honkin' big door up the stairs and into the Town Hall! It's 42" by 84" and solid oak!

If the day stays free, I'll hie me to the city and do a bit of Christmas shopping. On the other hand the deck sweeping and a bit of garden cut-back is also appealing. So nice to be able to choose what to do. I do have some accounting stuff looming over me too.

Enjoy your Monday whatever you do. (As I get older, I hate to waste a day!)

Whoops, Tammy hit enter before I did. Corned ham? Never heard of it - it must be a Southern thing. I prefer good old turkey for T-Day and Christmas. There's the advantage of having T-Day in October!

Ruth I could see you driving a truck, but you must wear some sort of hat (I have a picture in my mind lol) Your church coffee group sounds like a nice way to start the day.

Beth enjoy your short work week. How big do you want the turkey to be? Here you can usually find them well over 20 pounds.

Tammy corned ham sounds nasty....made me think of spam lol. I prefer traditional TG dinner too. This year my brother George is hosting.

Linda hope no one christens the stove before you get home.

Nothing thrilling here as it is my last day off before going back to work. I coukd really get used to being home. I purged my computer cabinet and organized it. I have a week off at TG and plan to tackle the China hutch and another credenza. The Veterans will pick up donations at the house which is great.

beautiful weather here. Giving a sigh after a stressful weekend. Once a parent always a parent. Its so hard to have a son who is an absolute perfectionist. Anyway the issue is sort of resolved and I told him to just close that chapter and go on. People wh done do that are always in a rut. Oh it was work related.

Linda do tell more about your new stove. Is it gas or smooth top. I'm sure many wonderful things will be flying off it.
