Finally Friday, August 28

  • Finally Friday! Fooled ya! It could also be for Fall because it sure feels like it this morning at only 50ºF! Also for Furnace which turned on overnight. I guess it's time to start closing windows at bedtime. Just checked the long-range forecast and it looks fine, in fact above normal temps. I guess it's just a teaser.

The Fair Board meeting was good last night except way too long as each committee brought up every little nit-picking thing. We started at 7 sharp and did not get out of there until ten! Next year I'll just send a written report. School opens on September 8th and I hope to get the schoolwork and prize envelopes to them before the end of the month.

Today looks clear for a change. We (Anna, summer staff and I) are doing a dinner after the Mill closes tomorrow afternoon. It'll be the last time everyone is here for the year. Allisa will stay on until she goes back to uni after Labour Day when we close. On Sunday, Jason and Rachel do their yearly end-of-summer BBQ and the weather looks good. Should be a nice weekend.

Hope your day goes well and you have the right kind of F-word Friday!
  • Goodness, Ruth, I must admit today's title was an eye-opener at first! I couldn't imagine what had happened to you, LOL! Your weekend is sounding fun with the dinner and BBQ to look forward to. Enjoy!

I'll do a bit of cleaning and the laundry this morning before going over to Dad's. I hope he's in the mood for a ride since I want to go to Beiler's Fruit Farm for a basket of peaches. Their's are the best. I promised to make a pie for the family for the weekend, and I want to slice and freeze a big bag of them to enjoy over the winter. I'm hoping to get over to Gina's tomorrow for a soak in her hot tub, and so far Sunday is up for grabs.

I'm going to sit and enjoy another cup of coffee before getting the day started. Can I get anyone a cup?
  • Yes, I'd love another cup!

I guess I was just a little tired of TGIF. Next to go will be Hump Day!

Note that I cleaned up the title a bit! (Slaps self upside the head!)
  • Oh I wish I was up earlier to see the original title lol

Ruth sounds like another great weekend with friends.

Linda do you do anything to the peaches before freezing them? Can they be frozen if they aren't quite ripe?

Pearlrose the WL challenge at work sounds like a perfect motivator. It's funny my food choices have been really good yet the scale won't budge. So last night I came home from work and was bullied by the ice cream in the freezer. Let's just say that won't be a problem tonight. Amazingly down a pound this morning. lol

Just my usual at least I don't have to go in early today. Maybe I'll get some weeding done before work. It is way too nice to stay inside!

Tammy looks like perfect camping weather. Enjoy!
  • Happy Friday to you all too! Just back from a cruise and back on PH 1 for a few days.
    Hope you are well!!!
  • Good morning and Happy Friday,

This morning I uploaded a video for my starting weight verification for the challenge. Haven't been very good this summer with eating so this should help, started Phase 1 today.

Ruth I had a laugh at your title. Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned

    Cottage those peaches sound yummy.

Jekel glad the scale went down for you this morning, its funny how they work sometimes

Jenne glad you had a good time on the cruise.

    Have a great day everyone!

    !
I blanche the peaches first for about 5 minutes so the skins can slip off, then halve them and slice them. I freeze the slices on trays before I bag them so I can take out just what I need. I wouldn't advise freezing peaches that weren't fully ripe, as I don't think they'd taste very good.
