Wednesday Chat Already? July 15

  • Today is Saint Swithin's day. According to tradition, the weather today will continue for forty days. We had a major change overnight and it's a cool (dare I say cold?) 52F right now. Sure hope tradition is wrong because my furnace is running this morning.

Survived the root canal although it feels like they went as far up as my eyeball this morning. However, at my age, I'm lucky to have my own teeth!

The little guest room is all painted and looks great. I am hoping to get the bed and mattress delivered and in place by Friday. Since it was my room when I was a little girl, I intend to sleep there one night to see if my aging clock gets turned back.

Pet therapy with Jazz this afternoon. He and Millie are feeling a little neglected these days since I have been confining them to the back of the house when I am working at my desk. Hardwood floors do not react well to wet paws! At the moment they have free access to the dog yard.

On we go to tackle Hump Day! So glad things have cooled off and hope it's the same where you are!
  • My Hump Day is starting off with the clashing and banging of thunderstorms. We've been getting one after another since about 3am. I have to drive over to West Chester in the heavy rush-hour traffic first thing this morning for a doctor appointment, and I'm hoping I can do in in-between the storms!

My future son-in-law surprised me with a round trip plane ticket to visit them in Chicago the first week of August. Whoohoo!!! Shhhhhh, , it's going to be a surprise for my DD, as she has no idea that I'm coming. I'm so excited!
  • When is Wedding Day, Linda? I will be riding with you on that ride to West Chester, by the way.

The Fair rides are starting to roll in down my road. Such excitement! I hope I never grow up!
  • Good morning!

Ruth, thanks for getting us started this morning! You had me checking today's weather. Our high is supposed to be 73 with rain in the afternoon. I guess I could live with that for 40 days. I'm glad your bedroom is getting finished! I sleep in my childhood bedroom but I think South Beach has done a better job at keeping me young. LOL have fun at pet therapy!

Linda, how exciting to get your airline ticket! Your daughter will be very surprised, especially so soon!

Work was busy yesterday and I took a little siesta when I got home. Then I started conversing with Kirk's daughter who is arriving on Friday and ended up staying late. I'm just enjoying my 1st cup of coffee. My days off start today and on my agenda this week will be a birthday party for the three-year-old on Saturday. The group is coming up here for dinner Friday night. I plan to work alternately today between the yard and in the house. I scheduled a massage for 6 PM. I'll take it easy but it looks like a day of great progress forward.

    Happy Wednesday everyone!
  • Ruth, the wedding will be as soon as Monica's X signs off on the divorce papers. He's been sitting on them since April, knowing that this move was coming. Grrrrrrr.

Debbie, what fun to plan a birthday party for a 3-year-old! Relish the moment!
  • Good morning chicks

Bea it was great seeing your post. Glad you and the family are well.

Linda that was so nice of future SIL!!! My ex was a royal pain too during the divorce. Every time we reached an agreement he would refuse to sign the paperwork. I remember being so angry when he did this for the buy out on the house. Delayed it for over a year! The past is the past. .......... so happy for you!

Ruth I haven't slept in my childhood room since I was 19 lol I can picture the fair rides driving past your house with you on the porch sipping coffee

Debbie enjoy your days off. Hope the party goes well. Three year olds are easy to please

Nothing on the agenda except work. Thursday and Friday I am participating in the Wounded Warrior rides before work so I probably won't get a chance to post. We are supposed to get a much needed break in the humidity tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed!
  • Good morning,

It was a nice cool 70 degrees this morning and it is only supposed to go up to about mid 80s today, I would take for 40 days. In office today as I had a 3 p.m. meeting thrown on my calender yesterday otherwise it would have been wfh.

Ruth you will have to tell us if you think it works sleeping in your old room

    Debbie enjoy your day off

Cottage that was so sweet of future SIL

Jekel have fun on your rides for the next two days.

    Have a great day everyone.
  • Quick (and late) check-in today. Had to go to a workshop to learn some new software for work; there is a second day tomorrow.

When I came home DH was busy mulching and such so I helped him but now another trip to Lowe's is in our near future since we were a couple bags short.

Hope everyone had a good hump day!
