Theme park saftey

  • I'm a bit worried I'm going to A themepark in September with 3 friends.2 of these friends are overweight.i am worried about going on certain rides.i recently went to a themepark with an obese person and I noticed on almost every ride if we shared a lapbar It didn't come anywhere near my stomach and he had to hold me so I stayed secured in the ride.im worried about my saftey on these rides since the person I will probably be ridding with will be obese.
  • Ride by yourself or don't go. Based on your post, those seem like the only options if you don't want to share a seat on a ride.
  • You said 2 of the 3 friends are obese. Maybe pair up with that one friend on rides that use a joint lap bar, and pair up with the others on rides that don't.
  • Are you worried that it will be awkward to point out the weight differences? I can't imagine that not being awkward.

At sea world a couple years ago the attendants made a man and his daughter leave a ride before it started because their size difference meant the bar was too loose on her. Generally, though, I think on the rides where it's most important, you will have individual restraints.

Are you going to Six Flags in Jackson? I lived going there growing up. Lightning Loops was the big deal in the 80s.
