True Lemon or Lime products ... thoughts?

  • What do most of you think of the True Citrus products? Are they ok or not?

If you are talking about the drink mixes, I like them. However, I don't count them as part of my water intake. I am sure you could, but I don't. When I am hungry and tired of water, I like to fix a tall glass and it helps me get through some hungry minutes.
  • TruLemon/Lime is just dried crystals of real juice, so you can use it just like you would fresh squeezed lemon or lime - it is IP compliant, just easier and more convenient, especially on a trip (my trick for airplanes, camping, etc).

  • I would check the labels - there are some 'drink' stick types of true lemon and true lime that have sugar in them.

I think the 'packets' are just lemon or lime crystals and safe but I'd double check to be sure.

I've never seen the 'drink' stick packets here... The other ones are pure juice crystals though (they are in a tiny sweetener sized packet with 50 in a box.) Yeah, better read ingredients.
  • The True Lime and True Lemon are perfectly fine. They make great additives for the vanilla drink and pudding packets. There's a fabulous recipe for key lime pie using the IP oatmeal and vanilla pudding with those, btw. I remember seeing it on the recipes thread, but it's also easy to search for on both google and pinterest.

I think the real issue is the Cherry and Raspberry Lemonade flavours of the True Lime packets. They definitely have calories/carbs in (hubby loves it and uses it, but he's not on IP).
  • Thanks for the distinctions. I used 1 drink packet and no weight loss for 2 days. Lesson learned. The crystal packets are wonderful for vanilla pudding mini muffins!
