MRC Consultation

  • Hi! Brand new here and to MRC. *waves* I have an appt Monday for the free consult. My 2 biggest concerns are whether the diet plan will work with my Crohn's disease and if I should even be attempting this plan while on prednisone. Anyone have any experience with either of those at MRC? Any suggestions on getting the most out of my consultation (and a good price!)?
    Thanks!

    Kimerz:
My son has mild crohn's and he's on humira and not on any other meds. He can eat about anything really. This is something you need to really discuss with your consultant. I did MRC and when I was on prednisone it made me gain weight. goodluck to you.
  • Thank you. I did the consult today and told them I wanted a few days to think about it but I am planning to join. Due to my work schedule, I can't attend the first menu/food class until late next week so that gives me a few days to consider and still sign up in plenty of time for the preconditioning time. They didn't put any pressure on me to buy anything extra or even sign up today. They require the multivitamin and an oil (I can't remember what he called it). He said my current vitamin and krill oil are fine. He told me about the Big 3 but indicated that due to my Crohn's they would want a dr. release before I started those. That impressed me. I'm signing up for $298/17 weeks. Still nervous about the prednisone being a hindrance but I've never tried to lose weight on it before so maybe I'm using it as a crutch. I think the accountability will help control my food cravings while on the dreaded prednisone.
Thanks for the input and I look forward to starting the program!

That's great and I'm glad they didn't pressure you! The center I use to go to all the girls were great! I hope it helps. As I mentioned my son has a mild case of crohns but he can't gain weight, he's 6'3 and his weight fluctuates between 145-150,
    Goodluck
