Back Again

  • Ahhhhh so I've gained back almost all the weight I lost a year ago and here I am again. I REALLY need to find a way to stick with it this time! I've got the myfitnesspal app, a gym membership that I'm not getting my money out of, and a pedometer. Time to get moving! Anyone around my weight range that wants to help each other stay on track?
  • Hey NorCalMommy, welcome back, many of us can relate to regaining the weight we worked so hard to lose, no shame it happens. For me, it was 10 years ago I went from about 321 down to 261 and eventually up to 350. I realized some important reasons behind my regain at that time in my life were -
    1. I was losing weight for looks 1st and my health a distant 2nd (read the above paragraph and you'll see how well that turned out ).
    2. I overexercised & underate, so when I slowed down, the weight came back quicker than the time it took to lose it.
    3. I didn't really understand nutrition back then (I'm not an expert now, but I am definitely far more interested in it now than I was back then, getting enough calories, carbs, fiber, protein, omega 3's, etc. to be healthy and efficient on this journey).

I wish you the absolute best on your weight loss journey! Besides this site, I am also partial to Instagram for inspirational quotes, pictures, and ideas.
  • Thanks! I'm definitely working on the nutrition!

Hi, I'm around your weight and I'm looking to stay on track as well. I've lost about 20 pounds since February, and am hoping to get out of the 300s in the next few months. Best of luck to you.
  • I feel you, it's very hard to keep the weight off but you can do it! Welcome back..
  • You say you gained back 'almost all' of the weight. Most people (myself included) tend to gain it all back and then some! To me, that counts as catching it early, if you're even a pound under your max weight.
  • You can lose it again, You did it once so that just shows that your able to do it again. Good Luck
  • You will be able to do it again...you got this! Best of luck to you!
  • Yup, this is an all familiar tale that a lot of us have a story to tell about at some point in our lives with failed diets or just quitting and starting over again. 10 years ago I lost 75 pounds and when times got hard in my life I threw my fitness and heath needs out the window. I gained all that back plus 25 pounds before I finally got back on track.

Thing is that when you're ready nothing can stop you and it sounds like you are. Stick with your motivation and go for it! You can do it!
  • Thanks everyone! It's definitely a struggle
  • Me too
I need to start again, from here. 326.2
