Our Favorite Inspirational Quotes

  • I can only imagine I'm not the only one who likes positive quotes to keep myself going, and who gets inspiration in pretty picture quotes from the Internet, on Pinterest, in blogs, etc. So I thought that it would be nice to share here those quotes and picture quotes that inspire us, that get us pumped about working out, about making healthy food and life choices, about finding joy in this journey, and beauty in ourselves, no matter where we are in our weight loss. I know it looks like this shouldn't go here but truly, what better way to support each other in this journey than with positive quotes and thinking?

Here go my two favorite ones:

  • Well, since you asked:

"All the time he's boxing, he's thinking. All the time he is thinking, I was hitting him." Jack Dempsey.

"Sure there have been injuries and even some deaths in boxing - but none of them really that serious." Alan Minter.

"The three toughest fighters I've ever been up against were Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Sugar Ray Robinson. I fought Sugar so many times, I'm surprised I'm not diabetic." Jake LaMotta.

"I was in a no-win situation, so I'm glad that I won rather than lost." Frank Bruno.

"Why would anyone expect him to come out smarter? He went to prison for three years, not Princeton." Dan Duva.
  • “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
    ― Maria Robinson
  • Another good one that helps me stay focused is this one, because it reminds me that the life I'm leaving behind is not worth living anymore, and that there are far better things ahead if I let go.

  • Quote: “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
    ― Maria Robinson
    Ooooh... I like that one!

It reminds me of this one I love:

Sometimes we wait for the perfect scenarios to start something new, and look back wishing we can get a do-over. When it comes to this journey, there isn't a perfect scenario, we just have to drop everything and start. If we screw up, there are no do-overs, just keep on doing our thing and continue aiming for our goal.

I take it you box? I liked LaMotta's quote. That was funny!
  • My favorite for a long long time.

  • Yes, TMD! I like that one too!!

One that helps me love myself in this process (and love the process), is this one:

How often do we look down on ourselves for not being something that took others a lot of hard work to become?

  • Crazy, Krazy! I just saw the first quote you posted this morning, and I thought it was pretty sweet!

Another great one for today's motivation...

Something that I absolutely love about this process is that along with losing weight I gain self confidence and a renewed sense of self and individual beauty. We are enough as we are and we need to see ourselves for it.
  • I've enjoyed this thread, here are some of mine that are especially inspirational to me -
Don't look back, you're not going that way...
  • That's a good one, Candidcamster!

Another good one that helps me see me for me and my individual value, and my ability to achieve this goal, is this quote:

    Good one!
