Monday Coffee Chat, 4/6

  • Good morning! I'm enjoying my coffee while watching the sunrise, and the sky is all the colors of an Easter egg.

We had a lovely day yesterday and I did pretty eating-wise. My only transgressions, besides my breakfast bun, were 2 mini cannoli and a glass of a delicious vodka punch. I didn't even have the wine that I was so looking forward to. And I was so busy running around all day that I hope I burned off any extra calories.

I'm expecting a quiet, normal, day at the farm, especially with the girls back in school this week, and it's looking to be a normal week of activities. This coming weekend I'll be staying with the girls for a few days while C & R go to Quebec for a birthday celebration, and the girls are already making plans for what we're going to do.

OK, I'd better go and show Jake where I want these shrubs and perrenials planted while I'm at work, or he'll plant them wherever he sees fit!
  • Those girls are so lucky to have you! I bet you'll have fun doing things together. My DD is 10, she's just decided she should do a lot in the kitchen with me, which I really enjoy.

Today is the start of my new schedule! I'll work 9-3 with a lunch (well, maybe not since they always overbook me), but I'm "off" tomorrow! I'm still pretty fatigued from the last couple weeks, so I won't be running a marathon or anything .

Easter was delicious, and I didn't go too crazy . I did however, have 1/2 glass at wine at 1 am to put me to sleep...it worked!
  • Merry Monday to us all. No glorious sunrise here but it is still great to be in April and know things are improving.

Linda, that reminds me of Harry "helping" me in the garden one time. I had tomato plants to set out and gave him explicit instructions. Came home to find he had planted marigolds 2' apart with wire cages!

Had a delightful Easter dinner with Lisa and her crew. Angus and my two started playing instantly. It was as if Angus had been here just two days ago. Lisa and Paul fenced in part of their yard and they played and played. The so-called adults had a good time too with the traditional Easter ham dinner and all the trimmings. Lisa made a Pina-Colada trifle - low sugar since her DD is Type 1 diabetic. It was definitely yummy and worth the extra calories! We were home by 9 and abed by ten.

Off to Quilting this morning and am sure glad I put the quilt stuff into the car in a huge plastic bag as it' pouring rain right now. My rum cake is ready to to too and so is all my paperwork and other stuff to pay bills and report. I must remember to pay myself too as I charged a big order of quilt batting to be delivered to xxx. Wanna bet she "forgets" to bring me the bill? xxx is not one of my favorite quilting biddies. She is pretty rude and aggressive with me and definitely not pleasant to work with. I seem to be the only one to find her like that and I usually get along pretty well with everyone.

Time to shower and get ready to tackle the week. I seem to have something on every day but no Mill meetings - must be a mistake.

    Merry Monday!
  • Good morning!

I messed around a little bit too much this morning but I had a good time. Now I'm just sitting with that final couple coffee, grab my smoothie and drop the dogs off before I head to work. Have a great Monday everyone!
  • Odds and sods here this morning; my vacation is coming to an end and I have to go back to work tomorrow. I think I'm going to pull the trigger and buy the freezer I have been stewing about for the last week. Big excitement, eh?

After that it will be groceries and menu planning.

Have a great day, chicks! (And Cottage, I'm jealous you are planting things; our ground is still frozen)
  • So glad I was able to read yesterday's posts. Beth and Tammy I would be a negative too!! Debbie my hips have exceeded a 42, but not much else lol. Work kept me busy and OP until Cinammon Life called my name. Tonight I was much better. Rode my bike watching the NCAA final game. I am going to be dragging my butt tomorrow lol but I do love my college BBall.

Beth enjoy what is left of your vacation.

Ruth glad you escaped the ham

Tammy I hope your new schedule is better for you

Debbie your energy still amazes me.

    OK back to the game
