Needing to lose 100 pounds

  • I am not good at wording things, but anyone have a suggestion on what diet program or exactly where I can go to start working on this weight loss?
  • There are many weight loss programs around to choose from. There's calorie counting, Atkins, Jenny Craig, Medifast, Low Carb/High Fat, just adding exercise to your day, etc etc. If I remember right I saw you mention you have PCOS. There are several women here who also do. You could ask what works best for them.

Congratulations on the amazing losses you've had. That's wonderful!!
  • to 3FC! Definitely poke around and see what you find! The best program is one you can sustain for the long-term.
  • WELCOME!!!!

Like the others have said, definitely look around on here at the different programs and see which one would fit your lifestyle best. I highly recommend looking into Trim Healthy Mama as well!! It was established publicly in 2012 and has yielded wonderful results! I am doing Trim Healthy Mama and it's doing amazing things for me. But that is just one of so many programs out there! Research everything and go from there!

    edit:
I want to add that I, too, have over 100 pounds to lose!
  • I used to weigh about 300 and got down to 150 doing basically Atkins with some cheats. It was hard bc I'm not a big meat eater, hate eggs, etc but that was honestly the only diet that truly worked for me. I did gain a lot back when I went off but that's bc I couldn't control my binge eating. I'm on metformin and spiro for pcos and adderall so I don't have much of an appetite these days so that's been helping this go around.
  • Just got on this forum
Still learning how to use this site. I got pretty freaked out 2 days ago at the doctors. I haven't seen a doctor in 14 years and when I got weighed the scale said 205lbs. I used to weigh 135. I just ordered the South Beach Supercharged book. My health issue is hypothyroidism and I have trouble concentrating and having energy to get things done everyday. Looking for motivation and inspiration here.

I recently just started Ideal Protein and it isn't so bad. I watched my two coworkers use the program and have great results. It can be costly but if you have the $400 up front and the 85-95 per week go for it.
  • I started off with 110 lbs to lose and I have PCOS. A lot of PCOS sufferers seem to do well with low carb. I didn't find that I need to go very low carb. Calorie counting and quality carbs works for me.

I'm 75 lbs down and my PCOS has improved, so it absolutely can be done.

Best of luck with whichever WOE you choose!
