How did you survive the holidays?

  • Sorry for the long break but boy, these holidays were exhausting! Relatives coming over only to have to return the visit the next days and a TON of food! I usually see holidays as an excuse to overindulge but this year I cut down on pigging so a HUGE win for me.

I let my mother know in advance that I’ll try to be more aware of what I eat – her and my granny are obsessed with cooking and they constantly ask if you’re hungry.

As for alcohol, I only had two glasses of wine and a glass of champagne and drank a ton of water.

I’ll avoid weighing myself for the next two weeks and try to eat more veggies, I’m sick from all that meat and fatty foods.

I’m pumped for 2015 and have strong hopes this will be my year!
  • I survived by logging everything I ate, but letting myself eat whatever I wanted.

Interestingly, putting all my food into myfitnesspal makes me a little less hungry, once I see I'm up to ~3000 calories... haha.
  • Glad you got through the holidays! I did not stay on course, personally. But I did not completely give up either. Because apparently I did not gain. Today I weighed myself @ 256 which is my ticker weight that I put up about a week before Christmas. I am very pleased with that. It gives me encouragement that I can successfully maintain when I get to that stage.
  • I pretty much ate whatever but not in a free-for-all kind of way. If I really wanted something, I ate it, but if it was just there and I wasn't particularly interested, I didn't. I still kept up with some exercise and during the days I usually ate really well, it was mostly at dinners and parties I ate a little extra. Some days I at a lot extra, others it was like I just ate a cookie or something.

The more important thing for me was to not whatever I wanted all day and to try to stay on track as much as possible. I put on a few pounds but I really enjoyed myself and am actually feeling really refreshed for 2015.

    Just 30lbs to go!
  • I gained 5.5 pounds during christmas and weighed myself on the 23rd and 30th and again this week. I have lost 5 pounds of it though so only 1/2 a pound worse off!
  • Splurged from 12/21 to 12/31 and gained 20lbs. Went back on the 1st (Induction) and what is amazing yet confusing is that i have have lost the 20lbs and an additional 11lbs. One more week on induction and will head back into OWL.
  • Well...I certainly didn't starve
  • I didn't. Kinda fell off the wagon and gained back an extra 5 lb. more than I already had. Back to the start again.
  • I personally struggled to maintain healthy eating during the holidays and what's worse is it made it harder to get back into the good habits.

Read this blog about bouncing back from the holidays from the blog on fatburnersonly website and for a week ate only raw foods! that helped revitalize my body and helped with digestion too.
  • I started my healthy habits on December 6 on purpose -- the only way to keep myself in check! I lost 4 lbs...
  • Well an update from me

I gained quite a bit at christmas but thanks to two good weeks and a good diy detox I have managed to be a pound better off than I was before Christmas. So I am happy and now back on track!!!
  • Well, regardless, we have 3 months till the next feed-o-rama – Easter, I’m looking at you haha – so no more excuses from now on.

Keep up the great work, ladies!
  • I was for sure I was gonna be back at 300 after Christmas but thats not what happened. I didnt lose but I didnt gain either so all in all it was a good Christmas.
