I found the first 4 days really hard. The fact that you are not hungry is a good sign. So sorry you are having an awful day today. When I get blue, I find taking a walk helps. I am pulling for you!

Oh Barb, bless your heart! I'm so sorry you're having a rough time. I haven't experienced this yet (9 days in for me), but I hope that others who have will see your post and be able to provide some insight. In the meantime, please know that I'm sending you a virtual hug. Hope it gets better soon!

I do think that in the beginning of a major change that ii can cause you to feel down. Many of those bad foods are addictive. I think it is common to mourn your favorite foods. It is temporary and before you know it you will love all the smaller clothes you fit into.

Stick with it you will be happy you did. After 7 months on the program I don't crave all my favorite junk foods. I feel so much better and my health issues have all calmed down.

Sorry to hear you're struggling with the starting week. It's not unusual at all - most people have SOME difficult symptoms to cope with, but it does get easier and you will start to have favourite packets and look forward to them.

Hoping that your 2nd week is a better one for you. Keep your chin up and take one day at a time until it smooths out.

I just started this week, on my second day and while I haven't noticed any significant changes so far (2 days!) I was advised by my coach that days 4-7 can be the toughest of the entire diet.

She told me that as the body runs out of the fast and slow sugars, it needs a couple few days before it starts living off the fat. So the hard time you are having may be normal?

When I started my coach told me to warn my family that I would have PMS like symptoms and withdrawal symptoms. I laughed it off, but she was so right! I cried and felt like an emotional wreck! I essentially was breaking up with my best friend food... You will get over this. Hang in there..

Remember too that we store estrogen in our fat cells. Rapid fat loss = estrogen flooding our system = PMS symptoms, irregular periods, irritability...etc.

It's totally normal, just means those fat cells are melting away!

I have been very weepy for the last week or so. Lots of family stuff going on, which I realize now, I would in the past have dealt with by eating (carbs being my go-to self-medication). I have worked the resistance muscle enough at this point that I can talk myself out of eating ("I am not actually hungry." "this problem will still be here when the brownies are gone", "I will only feel worse about this if I try to eat my way out of it", etc), but it is no fun feeling somewhat out of control and on the brink of a tantrum much of the day. Hope this phase moves on soon!
