Thursday Clucks - November 20

  • Good morning. I found an Irish Cream flavoured pod in my stash today so am indulging. No! I did not add Bailey's to it although the weather tells me it'd be a good idea.

We got another dump of snow (6") last night and I feel snowed in. Jazz came in from potty just covered with snow except for his head and tail plume. I guess I'll gear up and shovel - have to get the garbage to the curb by 7:30.

This morning's agenda is to finish some tidying so Michelle can clean this afternoon. Yesterday I sorted my quilting area and moved the Christmas stuff off the diningroom table. Tomorrow Jane is coming to work with me on a mail-out for Thera-Paws and we'll need a lot of space. I have a yummy bean/veggie soup to thaw for our lunch.

Now I need to find my winter boots so I can shovel - Crocs just don't cut it in 6" of snow.

Stay safe and warm in this deep freeze.
  • Oh, I love me some snow, but I don't think I'm ready for 6" yet. I'd hate to live in...where is it in NY with 72"?!?! Good grief!

The coffee is delightful this AM, and I unfortunately woke up early again. Could be in part I get my EMG done today and start to fix me. I hope.

Ruth - the pods are on sale at our local grocer, and I love the Caramel Vanilla Crème....it makes the whole place smell delightful!

    Have a great day chicks!
  • I'm sure we'll get our snow soon enough. I've seen pictures of the huge dump on western NY, though, and they leave me speechless!

It sounds like it's a winter wonderland at your house, Ruth, and I bet it's pretty!

Tammy, I'll be thinking of you all day, and good luck!

It's my Friday!!!! It hasn't been such a bad week, but I am starting to get pretty darned weary of the constant noise, and that darned dust is everywhere. It will be a day for celebrating when they are finally finished, but it will be another couple of weeks yet.

It's definitely soup weather - I have a container of homemade tomato & goat cheese soup thawing for my lunch.
  • I'm not ready for snow yet either. I need to give the snow blower a good once over and a pep talk

Tammy is someone taking you to you appointment today. I had one years ago and I remember being quite tired afterwards. But on a positive note count the test as exercise Mine was my neck through my hand and may arm was hopping all over the place. Thinking of you Please don't say you have to work afterwards!

Speaking of pods, I've been buying organic coffee. The pots are biodegradable. Instead of a plastic cup, the coffee is held by a mesh type bag.

Linda I know I couldn't handle living in the house during a kitchen renovation. Maybe that's why I still have a pull chain light fixture lol. Too much stress for the pups as their living area would be effected. Sigh maybe one day. A hope the chaos finishes soon so you can enjoy your beautiful new kitchen.

Must stay on schedule today. Need to leave for Albany by 10:30. Bike first! The scale and I are in an emotional roller coaster relationship. I really believe stress/anxiety and hormones are to blame because I am doing my part. hmmmmm
  • greetings from crazy week. Off I go
  • Well, I dug out the shovels and did the front of the house so I could get the trash out. Need to dig out my winter boots since Crocs just don't cut it. The good news is that Richard, my plough guy, showed up and cleared the front part of the lane. He also started the 2014/2015 snow mountain on the front lawn. Feeling like a coffee with real Irish Cream would hit the spot but will resist. I still need to shovel the back deck and steps for my furries to get down into the yard.

Big news is that a Whole Foods just opened in Ottawa. There's a good reason to travel to the Big City!
  • Wonderful sunrise today made me glad I was awake - mostly! Day 2 of the return, and DH asked to come with me this time around. I did a mini-grocery run last night to get through the day today (veggies, cheese sticks, nuts) and tonight I will do some real shopping and set us up with taco bake, chicken cacciatore, veggie soup . . .

    Hoping all are well!
  • Good morning.

I bet DS is glad he decided to go to school in LA instead of his other top pick in upstate NY!

I've been gearing up for Thanksgiving. Yesterday I mixed cookie dough for my other son, deciding I'd make it ahead but freeze and bake later. Hopefully it will work out okay. Today I'm going to bake pumpkin bread to freeze. Last night we tried a recipe for pumpkin baked beans as a possible vegetarian side dish. I thought it was overly sweet but DH, the vegetarian, liked it well enough to serve. I was hoping to find something that goes in the crockpot since so many other things are in the oven that day. If anyone has good crockpot side - please let me know!

On my "must do" list is shoe shopping. Again. I still need to find new "sneakers" that I can wear standing at work and during exercise. I've bought and returned several so far after the "work" test; my arches hurt with all of them, even with my OTC orthotics.

    Have a great day.
  • Good morning,

It is cold here but no snow, the pictures from Buffalo are just crazy. Today starts testing again for a couple of days. Yesterday was definitely off plan day so back on track today.

Ruth hope you get everything shoveled off.

Twynn I hope you get all the answers today

Cottage that is why I have not redone our bathroom and to boot it is our only bathroom so I need to build saniflo bathroom in basement prior to redoing ours.

Jekel I have not stepped on the scale will have to do tomorrow I am sure it has not gone down any that is for sure

Cyndi hope your week goes by quickly

Bea welcome back to the beach

Karen I am sure DS is glad now. Hope you are able to find some that work for you.

I also have soup for lunch today yum. Okay have a few meetings that still piled up on my schedule even though I totally booked my calender for testing so better get off to it.

    have a great day everyone!
  • Gold and morning

Ruth that s quite a bit of snow. Not much here but roads are slippery. Hope you find your bootst

Tammy hope its not too long of a wait for your results

Linda. That must be quite a renovation. I guess thanksgiving preparations are on the list

Jen. If you are off enjoy your day

Cyndi. Are you counting the days till you see your adorable gs

    Bea welcome back

Karen I sympathize on the shoe issue. I bought a new pair with new orthodics and wore them around for 2 months before trip. Still ended up with a bruised toe which will probably be a souvenir for along time

Pearlrose. Good to have soup in this weather

So I cleaned and reorganized my walk in pantry. Dh says it looks like a mini supermarket. Today defrost freezer and may be clean spare fridge.
    Take care
    Sophie
  • Good Morning

Ruth, thanks for getting us started! Stay warm today and I hope Michelle shows up to clean lol!

Tammy, thinking of you today and wishing the best!

    Linda, happy Friday!

Jennifer, always good when you are doing your part even when the scale isn't cooperating!

    Cyndi,

    Bea, welcome back!

Karen, sorry, I'm not much of a crockpot gal. Good luck with your shoes!

Pearlrose, if I had to put a saniflo in basement think I'd be looking at the 24 hr bathroom reno services...even if was much more $$. Ours is in desperate need!

sophie, yay for cleaning out your pantry!

I've been up for awhile...saw DH off. He was over the hill without a vehicle but roads are clear so he took the small car and plan is to keep it over there for the winter. I leave in 45 min for trip to Denver...mom's eye appt, Costco and lunch. I think I'm going to take advantage of peace and quiet and pull out a sewing project. Think I'm going to try and make some presents to save $$.

Smoothie is done….shower and exercise routine still left.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hey there!

Too busy this morning to check in before work but thought I would before I do my afternoon workout.

We have about 6" of snow and bitterly cold wind, but at least right now it is sunny. We are supposed to warm up this weekend.

    Bea- welcome back!
Tammy, thinking of you today. Perhaps you will get some answers.
Sophie- I'm jealous of your walk in pantry. I have a facsimile with shelving in my laundry room.

I sense inertia setting in; I need to get up and exercise!
