Shoes

  • I have huge trouble finding and wearing any other shoes than sneakers or wide sandals or loafers. I would love to wear pretty heals or boots, but just can't seem to find any that are wide enough.
Do or did any of you have the same issue? Did your feet change as well when you lost weight?
    Thanks for your input!
  • Losing weight causes my feet to get smaller too. I go down about 1/2 a size.

Stick to brands that work for you. They're not the cutest shoes but Naturalizer, Aerosoles and Easy Spirit will offer more selection for wide feet.
  • My feet has def' shrunk. More the width vs the length.
  • Thank you.
I'm definitely going for comfort at the moment. But it's nice to have also in mind that weightloss results in prettier shoes.
  • Also, try shopping online especially on American sites, which tend to have more sizing options. I have large (size 43), medium-width feet and I would have no nice shoes at all if not for the internet. I just did a quick search on Amazon US and I saw cute heels and dress shoes in double wide width. So there IS hope. Unfortunately maybe not in regular brick and mortar stores.
  • zappos.com filters by wide - even wide calf
  • Womanwithin.com and roamans.com have shoes, boots and high boots in W & WW and big calf sizes.
  • I usually wear between an 8 and 9 US women's shoe. My feet are typically on the wider side, but a wide width is too big. When I lost 60 pounds in high school and got down to 159 pounds, I was wearing 7 1/2-8 US women's shoes. Yes, your foot size will change. It's one of those weird, incidental changes you never think of, like losing weight in your hands (I went down to a size small glove) and your neck getting smaller (shorter chains become more comfortable to wear).
  • First time I hear that lose weight can cause smaller feet
