Finally Friday - October, 24

  • TGIF from dark and dreary Delta. Sunrise at 7:30 is a myth because it's still plenty dark out there. Things will improve a bit when the time changes.

Did not get much done yesterday although the plans were there. It was a day with one small problem after another and started when the door handle to the basement fell off and the door would not open. The know has only been there since 1928! They sure don't make stuff the way they used to! That was just the beginning of a tribe of minor things that all had to be resolved. (Can someone explain to my why my bedroom curtains fell down? Millie claims she had nothing to do with it.)

Anyhow, the day ended with a good time for us all when Joanne came over with Joey the car herder for a playtime. He and Millie are best buds now. Jazz plays politely for a while and then turns into a grumpy old man and goes to bed. He just can't keep up with "the kids" I guess.

Anyhow, today has to be full speed ahead so I can get the sale baking done. (Could not do it yesterday as planned because the racks and cookie sheets are on the wall going to the cellar!)

So TGIF everyone. Two months from today ...
  • Good morning!

Hi Ruth, it sounds like you had a doozy of a day yesterday. I hate when that happens. I hope today is better for you happy Friday!

I work today because my coworker is in Florida. I was supposed to have tomorrow off but she called and wants to stay. Go figure. So I'm working the next five days and I'm not overly excited about it. I'm trying to get some paperwork done here and have a little more coffee and make my smoothie then it's time to head out

    Happy Friday everyone!
  • Happy Friday!!!

Another wfh day for me so hope to get lots accomplished. On the agenda is taking Blue to the vet this morning for yearly check up and then just finishing up stuff for my project.

After researching I believe what I have going on is Food pollen allergy so I am backing off completely from fresh fruits and vegetables until it clears up and then will reintroduce one at a time for a week so I know what is triggering so I can avoid it (besides apples which I already know about).

Ruth sounds like you had quite the day yesterday don't you hate when that happens. I hope you get all of your baking done.

Debbie sounds like your co-worker is having too much fun in Florida. Sorry you have to work so many days in a row.

Tomorrow we are supposed to go to Boo at the Zoo which should be fun since it is supposed to be a very nice day- gotta enjoy them while we have them.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hey! Where is everybody?
  • My morning was too busy to stop and post, but I always sneak a peek while at work!!
    Sorry yesterday was tough, Ruth.
Debbie, I feel for you! Hope your days go quickly.
Hope the rash clears up and you can figure out the triggers, Pearl.

The sun came out for a bit this afternoon and DH and I snuck (is that the correct past tense of "to sneak"??)in a walk.

Tonight will be a glass of wine and some relaxation. Not sure what the weekend holds, besides the normal niggles.....

The scale ticked down a bit today. So while I will have a couple splurges this weekend, I am going to try to follow the first 2 rules of SB:
    1. Have plan.
    2. Actually follow the plan.

(there's "splurge", there's "planned off-plan" and then there's "out of control". Trying to avoid that last one!)
  • Quote: Hey! Where is everybody?
Hello Ruth! I was wondering the same thing. I've been mostly on, some days off, plan for the past couple of weeks and have been reading the board, but it's been so slow! I hope it will perk up.

I'm hoping to be On Plan starting Sunday (with a good SB dinner Saturday, after shopping). I've had huge problems with Social Security (nothing to worry about for most psople, even seniors) that's robbed me of sleep and caused me to write letters, appeal a decision, and make incessant phonecalls. It's been going on since JULY and was just solved, I hope, today. Last week, I published the last issue of a magazine I've been putting out for 35 years -- not at all sorry, I was surprised to find. It was time, and I've gotten quite a few very nice letters from subscribers who'll miss us.

SO, I should have no excuses this time! My last try at SB was odd. I didn't lose any weight, which hasn't happened before. I've been having some health problems that I thought were over, but perhaps not, and perhaps that's why. This time, though, I'm going to focus on sticking to The Plan rather than worrying about the scale.

Hello, Pearl, Debbie and Beth, too!
