I KNOW it's Thursday and I am hoping for a "normal" day. I spent most of yesterday glued to the horrorshow news from Ottawa and did not sleep well last night. Really scarey stuff happening out there.
Today I need to get myself into high gear and get baking done or, at least,
started for the quilting biddies sale on Saturday. I plan to get the cookie doughs made and will form them tomorrow. That's the plan anyhow - we'll see if it plays out.
I did make a great soup with some of the leeks and a lovely cauliflower yesterday.
Recipe. I have been trying to cut back on carbs but really miss creamy and comforting soups when it's cold and wet and it seems to have been like that for a week around here. I have some turkey stock and meat in the freezer so will do something with that combo next week. I am going to give a couple of soup meals to my friend Anna who does not eat properly these days. (She's a wee bird of a woman who is 85 years young! Think 98 pounds, dyed red hair and sometimes insufferably perky! I want to be Anna when I grow up.)
OK - second coffee is gone and it's finally getting bright so I am outta here to lug the trash to the road.
Linda, I do hope you feel even better soon. Today's your Friday and I hope it's an easy day, not Fried-day.
